  1. Grey and dark once again despite the brighter start, also really quite windy to, 9c. Improvement on the charts today but going on past experiences I still think the northerlies going through Scandinavia and straight into Germany instead.
  2. The pessimist in me is thinking the GFS 12z is actually 100% right, the northerly will roar through Scandinavia and into Eastern Europe whilst we sit in this bland, grotty, boring, nothingness until at least Mid December! there's just something so off with the weather this Autumn, EVERY exciting event has turned into nothingness.
  3. Oh dear, the 12z is exactly what will probably happen re the potential cold spell in the end
  4. Yet another snoozefest day today to add to the ever growing list since August , slate grey skies, no breeze, 10c and no sign of any brightness!
  5. Friday's front doesn't look to active to me, i'm living in hope that something interesting may fine be on the cards in 10 days time, I mean surely after the blandest 4 months of weather I can remember something eventful has to happen right..? right??? Then again we do seem to have much longer periods of mediocre conditions these days.
  6. After the coldest night of the Autumn with a low of -2.0c, the first frosty morning of the Autumn quickly changed from glorious sunshine to slate grey skies. Currently grey and 4.8c, ick.
  7. And so it begins, slate grey skies and 5c, looks like the initial cold grey outlook has changed to a very mild one for next week now after a chilly Monday!
  8. Looks like were finally moving into a long spell of settled weather but unfortunately with very little sunshine or frost, here's hoping its sunnier than expected.
  9. Just my luck Telford gets it's first full on torrential thundery downpour of the year when i'm walking to an interview  Had a crack of thunder and literally the most intense hail storm i've seen in my life, could barely see 5 meters in front! rather typical the first/only exciting weather event of the Autumn to come when i'm in the middle of it
  10. -0.2c here at the minute with the first frost of the Autumn forming, shame it won't last!
  11. Me and Summer of 95 really do draw the short straw time and time again with our microclimate's , luckily the shield is having an afternoon off, gorgeous sunshine now and feels much milder than 4.4c.
  12. What a surprise, rain showers all night with no frost and then further drizzly/light rain showers all morning without a hint of wintriness. FINALLY some sunshine now, looks like a rare pleasant afternoon but if this upcoming spell of weather is as cloudy as I think then we may well of had our first entirely frost less Autumn I can remember!
  13. Make the most of the sun tomorrow folks, I have a feeling it may be the last time it's seen this month, on paper the charts would suggest the perfect setup of sunny days and frosty night's but we all what's really coming, a Telford special.
  14. Ahh roll on tomorrow, another truly miserable day today with added rain for good measure, ick.
  15. Yet another sunless dark day today after looking at today's charts it's definitely time to get the sun lamp out.
  16. Oh believe me after this autumn I'll happily welcome an anticyclonic spell if it means frosty night's and sunny days but bar the UKMO all charts point to my most feared weather of all, anticyclonic gloom.
  17. Brilliant UKMO this evening with the shortwave further west and then cold air from the east, GFS remains unexciting however with it turning milder Tuesday Night and then that snoozy high pressure cold which looks sunny on paper but ends up being 3c by night 5c by day with stratomania.
  18. Bleurgh yet ANOTHER overcast grim miserable day to add to the countless number there's been since August, the downgrades to the cold spell don't come as a surprise, everything of remote excitement this Autumn has turned into stratocumulus and drizzle.
  19. No shocks really, ECM and UKMO jumped on board the downgrade train to, if this cold spell fails then this will go down as the most bland Autumn in my living memory.
  20. And then comes the 12z with the downgrade train
  21. A Cheshire Gap flow like today's with Tuesday's uppers would be perfect, my cynical hat says the most likely setup is still a slack wishbone effect with a few sunny days and frosty nights followed by an easterly of some sorts with uppers to mild to be of use aka ECM & 18z low resolution, here's hoping i'm wrong though as this has been the best year for snow events in quite some time.
  22. Despite the clear skies there's not been much of a drop in temperature through the evening yet, here's hoping we get our first proper frost of the Autumn!!! The pub run up to it's usual tricks for next week bringing in snowmageden for Tuesday Night  if only!
  23. Ahhh what a surprise, the most ideal wind direction to get the heavy stuff hitting us through the Cheshire Gap comes when it's to mild to be of any excitement. Frequent heavy showers coupled with a strong and very gusty NW wind, rather chilly at 6.8c, if only it was 6 degrees or so colder!!!
  24. A day of two halves today, lovely crisp sunny morning (surprisingly almost no frost here for some reason despite a 0.3c low) followed by a miserable grey afternoon.
  25. Poured down with rain for a time this morning, rather mild and muggy now at 15c but very dark all day.
