  1. It was when I was on my holidays, opposite now I finish at 5pm everyday  Coldest day in some time today, max of just 13.8c.
  2. Cold, damp and grey start, I would say Autumn's arrived but about 25 out of 31 mornings were like this in August anyway  Dodged the worst of the rain though thank goodness, looks like most of the rain will stay over Wales this weekend now leaving it just cool and cloudy, i'm going to hold on to my hope of a Mid September warm spell that the GFS has.
  3. Was lovely and sunny on lunchbreak, around 21.5c and good spells of sunshine, typical though cold and grey once 5pm hit, in fact its only 14.9c at the minute!!!
  4. Yuck the weekend really looks foul, the best days are always around Thursday's this year, a little earlier this week but next week once again shows pressure building through the week only to go downhill last minute hmm.
  5. FINALLY home after a day in a sweaty, airless trap of a room, been a fair amount of mid-high level cloud here anyway today, lovely and warm at the mo, 24c.
  6. Sun eventually broke through around 3:30pm, clear skies now typically ! if only this had happened a few hours earlier, gorgeous at 22.8c !
  7. Yup still 100% overcast here and typically as clearing skies are now moving through Wales there's an area of cloud erupting north eastwards from the south which will arrive here just in time when this muck clears! typical! http://www.sat24.com/en/gb
  8. Oooh I should known, I knew it, my last day to get any sun in and BAM 100% cloudcover with NO sign of breaking up despite even the 06z showing 24c! Just watch tomorrow and Thursday be cloudless to twist the knife
  9. Turned increasingly sunny in the end after 1pm thank goodness, gorgeous blue skies the past few hours, maxed around 22.5c in the end! perfect! Hope the GFS is on to something regarding this weekend, can't be dealing with Autumn (UKMO, ECM) just yet!
  10. Welcome to Shropshire's climate  Slowly seems to be improving here, been almost overcast for the past 2 hours but more patches of blue sky around now..fingers crossed!
  11. Actually started fairly sunny this morning but cloudzilla's rolled in now from the north west, need that wind to turn south already, 17.3c at the mo.
  12. The sun did briefly make an appearance here to around 1pm, felt lovely and warm, perfect in fact! seemed to good to be true, of course it was as it's 16.8c!!! now with thick cloud and a surprisingly gusty westerly wind, satellite shows once again as soon as you exit Shropshire it's practically wall to wall sunshine Also I knew I was not crazy regarding August haha! Around 121 hours of sunshine in the end here (Average 175.6 hrs) meaning we ended up around 68.9% of the average, with most of those hours being after 5pm.
  13. New month same old tricks..sunny skies I see literally from 5 miles of here southwards while were in the grot jesus wept this has gotten boring.
  14. Had many single figure minimums here to, 9c last night in the end. Today thus far somewhat sunnier than I was expecting considering the wind direction, more cloud moving in from the NW though now on a cool breeze, 15.4c at the mo. Outlook remains very dry, Monday & Tuesday are my last days of the year to get some sun in so really hope it's not cloudzilla!
  15. Here's August 2013 here in picture form, there's many more to but when you've seen one you've seen them all. As for the day's the sun has come out, it's been with these sort of skies aka 20 seconds of sunshine per hour of cloud.
  16. Same old story here this afternoon ^^^ once again another day that adds to my main gripe about this month, 23/24c over Birmingham while 20c here! Certainly not liking the way the charts are going today though regarding Monday/Tuesday, every run is pushing that high further and further south, going to end up a cloud fest as usual at this rate!
  17. Brightening up here now to woop, ended up with a low of 12c last night in the end, rather disappointing this weekend downgrading back to a cool cloudfest last minute though! Tomorrow in particular a fitting end to this month, 17c and stratomania
  18. Not as drab today, mostly cloudy this afternoon but bright with occasional spells of sun, 20.5c, no shocks September's arriving with clear blue skies and warmth again this year, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday..and maybe Wednesday all looking cracking.
  19. No sun here STILL!! seemed like it was brightening up around 3 but the sun never broke through... Update: In true Shropshire fashion the clouds magically dissolving now the sun's set.
  20. Ahh it's well and truly back today! the joyous dark slate grey skies with no sign of brightness and that wonderful magic number, 17 degrees. I'm guessing Blizzards is at 23c again by now  certainly looks like in true Midlands tradition Shropshire will be the region that doesn't brighten up today!
  21. The sun properly came out again later this afternoon though turned surprisingly cool due to that Cheshire Gap breeze, 18/19c most of the day. Rest of the week a bit uncertain for sunshine amounts, Friday potentially 23-25c widely across the region if that pesky front can keep cloudzilla away long enough. Weekend looks fairly sunny and fresh now rather than the October esque misery the charts were showing before with the potential for things to warm up again into early next week, nice to see upgrades for once in what has been a disappointing month for here, though mostly due to the no mans land 17-19c days while down the road has been 22c+, it's all a very 'usable' month but certainly joining April 2011 in the Shropshire vs rest of the Midlands sunshine split.
  22. Don't worry guys the glooms spread back in from the North now after sunny skies thus far, looks quite dark/thundery actually but nothing on the radar.
  23. It seems like the shock factor is continuing tomorrow to , 22/23c again.
  24. Finally a perfect day! 23.4c max and long spells of sun, first proper summery day in what seems like forever!
  25. Seems to be a reoccuring theme all month for us, 21c+ forecast and then suddenly last minute changes to muck, past a joke now, i'm sure the 12z will have the north sea mist swanning in for tomorrow
