  1. Wow it really is turning lovely now, very windy but 19c!!! the Thursday warmth strikes again
  2. Luckily slight upgrades again this morning, a nice surprise! although best to stay cautiously optimistic for now, charts have backed off yesterday's trend for the high toppling on Monday to!. Looks like it's gradually uphill now this morning's rain has passed through, should brighten up later hopefully!
  3. Charts might look good on the face of it but the satellite forecast shows different story unfortunately, those charts would bring slate grey skies without a shadow of a doubt!
  4. Oh dear, where has all this grot appeared from, there was no cloud on the satellite forecast's until this morning's runs, now it looks practically overcast all weekend!
  5. Well it has downgraded hugely that's a fact, last night it looked clear and warm all weekend with just some high level cloud as the front skirted Scotland, now it looks mostly cloudy all weekend here, the forecast satellite has low cloud all weekend and then the warm air pushing away Monday, massive changes from last week's week of clear skies!
  6. 12z suddenly cloudy for the weekend AND Monday here is it actually gonna do this again!
  7. Ahh what a surprise, after getting my hopes up for FINALLY getting a warm and sunny weekend the downgrades begin!!! just watch as usual grey murk will end up over here Saturday AND Sunday, oh and Monday to if the 12z has it's way
  8. Another typical Telford day today, sunless and damp, did have some heavy rain around midday to but mostly light drizzly stuff, max of only 10.3c!! Going to be quite the shocker when it's over double that this weekend! stunning charts, such a relief after the depressing muck we've had since...well 3rd August really
  9. Can we bag the ECM please, lovely warm weekend, pleasant warmth next week and then a end of September/Beginning of October 2011 heatwave!! While were at it keep it above average and sunny all October to make up for the dreadful past 7 weeks of weather here !
  10. Not as eventful as I thought it would be today, just a few light showers and sunny spells, max of 13.0c, breezy but not to gusty. Charts continue to look brilliant for the weekend, keep it up please, one last Vitamin D charge up is needed!
  11. Cold and breezy this morning though a fairly sunny start, 6.7c. Very promising charts this morning, don't want to get to excited for a few days though yet.
  12. Tommorow will probably be much windier here with winds howling through the Cheshire Gap blasting the showers in, it's crystal clear at the minute though with barely a breeze.
  13. Got down to 5.2c last night, today as always turns out in the end just another bog standard slate grey, windy day with not much rain either bar a brief heavy downpour on the back edge of the front. Lovely GFS & UKMO for next weekend, perfect in fact! would bring some last minute Vitamin D top ups, and proper sunshine! in the meantime, zzz my worst nightmare charts for the time of year this week! sub 15c maxes belong to October - March only please.
  14. Lovely end to the day, crystal clear skies, shame it took so long to get properly sunny, 8.6c now! Seems to be at least some promise of better conditions by the end of the week/next weekend, hopefully the storm ends up further north like the JMA>
  15. This would be my ideal climate, pay attention Telford Sun Shield Jan: 5c -5c A mix sunny pleasant days & arctic storms giving major snow events) e.g similar to the Mid West USA winters such as in Denver, max's anywhere from sub zero to the mid teen's, many days up into the low teens after a sharp frost and sunny followed by below 0 and heavy snow would do nicely. Feb: 11c -2c Similar to January to start with but an increasing number of warm days reaching the mid teens later in the month then occasionally thrown off with a big snow event. Mar: 17c 6c Frequent sunny days and frosty nights to start the month, then a slow increase in average temperature's with occasional days touching 20/21c. Late March 2012 basically. Apr: 20c 9c Around 300hrs of sunshine, still a lot of cool nights with warm days around 18-21c with low humidity, rain in the form of brief sharp showers or overnight. May: 23c 12c Around 350hrs of sunhine, 21-25c typically, breezy, but dropping nicely into the low teens by night, a few taster storms to break up the sunny days. Jun: 24c 13c Around 400hrs of sunshine, typically around 23-25c most days with the odd cooler day following overnight storms, never a cloud between 10am-4pm. July: 25c 14c Again around 400 hours of sunshine, 23-27c most days falling to around 12-14c most nights to keep it fresh, often breezy, low humidity, about 4 or 5 storms over the month. Aug: 26c 15c Unbroken sunshine everyday with any rainfall in the form of evening or overnight storms, amazing lightning displays, around 10 storms over the month but never a cloud by day. 24-27c on average but the odd 20/21c day to freshen things up, maybe a few days in the upper 20's giving way to violent storms by 9pm. Sep: 25c 13c Summer continues, any signs of Autumn only via some fresh nights getting close to 10c, otherwise cloudless skies everyday & around 24-26c first half, 22-25c second half. Oct: 22c 11c Sun still strong enough to provote convection, would maybe need some relief from the sun by now so frequent heavy downpours and storms interspersed in the late afternoon's/evenings with the odd clear sunny summery day, temperature's anywhere from 18c to 25c, always clear sunny morning's, none of that depressing murk! Nov: 17c 7c A mix of everything, plenty of warm sunny days in the upper teen's, even low 20's in the first half of the month, some violent downpours, then some frosty nights and maybe a snow event by the end of the month. Dec: 7c -2c Sharp drop in temperature's from November, plenty of sunshine, some days in the low teen's but a good few day's around freezing & below to, some big dramatic changes over a short period of time e.g 13c and sunny one day and snowing the next. So overall similar sunshine amounts to somewhere like Yuma , the dramatic summer storms of Europe and the sudden changeability of the Mid West US Winters.
  16. After dull and damp morning some sunny spells at times this afternoon, still fairly cloudy but I've accepted my wishes for a clear day while there's any strength to the sun aren't going to happen now! 14.6c so another below average day, though feels a lot less cold without that breeze!
  17. Yuck, really soggy day with some heavier rain after 3pm, max of only 13.9c to! much better tommorow, 20c widely!
  18. And on top of that this year it's not just been the usual strato grey sheets, but also a lot of mid-high level/aircraft type cloud that has seemingly appeared out of absolutely nowhere and stuck over us all day on days which would normally of been mostly clear, especially happened on many days in July, and all through last week's warm spell.
  19. It seems we've gone from a potential brilliant 2011 esque September warm spell to more of this October/November muck on all the models now/
  20. Cool, calm and generally cloudy today, maxed at 15.5c, charts have continued to back away from the 'warm spell', shame as it was looking pretty likely we'd see a lovely Indian Summer blast from the med or at least a good few days of high pressure, still some hope but looks like October storm Monday/Tuesday might of ruined things now.
  21. Truly attrocious charts/ downgrade's today, this is exactly why I only moan  got all positive saying we'd get a last taste of summer mid month and now suddenly an arctic blast is on the cards instead
  22. My gosh the nice weather loves to avoid weekends doesn't it lately ! since August arrived it's been consistently below average at weekends (even when there was sunshine) yet warm/humid around 21-24c on Thursday's which is set to happen again this week. Through August the weekends were more reminiscent of mid-late September and at the minute it's more like late October at 11.4c!!!!! with almost torrential rain!
  23. Managed to dip to 5.8c last night in the end! brr!! Shockingly gorgeous morning thus far, chilly but very sunny! however the usual wall of cloud is now visible in the distance so i'm guessing it will be business as usual within the hour. Update: And correct, now 95% cloudcover  Meanwhile the 06z continues to show a mid month warm spell
  24. After some good spells of sunshine to start the day it's business as usual GFS continues to hint at possibilities of a mid month warm up though (and of course the guaranteed warm Thursday), just hope it materializes and last's at least into a Saturday for once.
  25. Next Wednesday/Thursday already shaping up to be the best days next week yet again with the usual cool fest Saturday!!! that is some serious consistency with warm Thursdays and grey/cool Saturday's this year. ECM seems to be moving towards the GFS idea of a mid month Azores ridge which is my current straw clutch for some last minute warmth, the 18z certainly knows how to get my hopes up with it's FI heat plume's!
