    Ricky67 yep as I just posted in MOD thread the back loaded winter is disappearing before our eyes Been poor here, 1 snow day , no freezing days and up to now 7 air frosts.

    Midlands Ice Age thanks , my that is suprising as i definitely thought there had been a downward trend since 70's and 80's but as you have shown its been a bit up and down with 79 being exceptional. Thanks again. John

    The problem is that's another 10 days of winter gone and we are no closer to anything really cold that we really need at this time of year. Not seeing anything in current model output to suggest otherwise.

    SunnyG yep couldn't agree more , I mind going to work late Dec 78 and walking through 2 foot drifts on the pavement, everyone was in work that day though a few from afar were late .Now we get 2 inch of snow and everyone stays in bed. My I must be getting old , am grumpy old man

    The Met forecasts have been shocking all winter , we have turned into a bunch of woossies as well, a forecasted inch of snow and everything is planned to stop.

    northwestsnow and we all know what that Elephant is. It must be interfering with all the great signals we have had for cold. Can only see this getting worse as tge climate heats up even more

    Barents lost a lot of sea ice recently, seems to be hit hardest in recent years compared to 80"s and 90's , doubt we will see it at they levels again.

    Just had a look at our ski resort webcams , my the snow has taken a hammering in the milder weather ,been another poor season.

    Hairy Celt ano just don't see where the very cold weather we need is coming from for any lasting snow. The days are drawing out rapid now.
