  1. Immense. Fully agree. There’s your pipe burster Feb. That’s why I took my bat and ball home when this thread was buzzing over a North Westerly slush fest. This is when I start to get a tad excited. Granted it’s only one and we need these to appear more frequently. Out of interest what would the temp on the ground be under that?
  2. Never bought into the hype anyway. Northwesterly slush or cold rain is what we get in these set ups. Todays update will be closer to what we get. Not the blizzards mentioned in the mod thread
  3. Northwesterly slush fest? No thanks Never do well from them, although higher parts up near LBA get a lot
  4. 25 January 1995. 45cm in 3 hours In Leeds January 1995 United Kingdom snowfall - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  5. Keep watching the mod thread. You ain’t seen nothing yet! Just wait till Thursday when all they can build is a ‘potential’ snow man. March ‘13 was epic. Obviously 2010 but that was more memorable for the depth of cold. -6c at lunchtime in Leeds. Hopefully we get some this winter, as last year was poor (and it transpires you are at fault for that!)
  6. Slowly becoming? It’s the same every year. Snow accumulation charts will be posted constantly from now on. Don’t be too disappointed when you wake up and it’s ‘game over’ and ‘massive downgrade’ etc etc. This has meant in the past that we get the snow instead but that’s never mentioned.
  7. The following charts gave me in Leeds my most memorable snow event. Heavy rain until it turned to very heavy snow at 5pm. Over 40cm dumped by late evening. (Must have been some cold upper upper upper air temps). It certainly phased me
  8. Well well. The chase for this year has begun… ECM day 10 Is back to what it does best
  9. Reports coming in that the wind is that strong that a Ryanair Plane has landed in the city it was actually meant to
  10. Nobody there thankfully that’s the most important thing. Could have been much worse
  11. So after a short break from posting silly FI charts i’m back. Great to hear from you Matt Tattoo and so glad you’re feeling better. I’ve been in a bad place myself recently but I won’t let it win. Anyway my eyes are peeled for the GFS to be finishing like this later After this fine ECM tonight
  12. Ahhh the great 95 event. The day Eric Cantona Kung fu kicked the fan. The best snowfall event I can remember. Heavy rain bouncing off the pavement big puddles until around 4/5pm here in Leeds. Turned into massive flakes and brought 40cm in 3 hours to some parts. Gridlock. Had to walk to meet my mum who had set off from the centre of Leeds as the roads were chaos. This event blew the ‘it won’t lay it’s too wet’ theory out of the water and I laugh anytime I hear that. January 1995 United Kingdom snowfall - Wikipedia EN.M.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
