Took my socks off last night and found out that my feet had gone webbed (I know all my family is from Cheshire-but still......) firewood jobs to do, garden jobs to do, house and shed maintenance jobs to do but just too wet. Getting fed up now even though daylight is stretching out and some signs of spring! Still expecting a cold, dry March though.

Dark Horse yeah agreed. Although I do find that a cold March can lead to a significant lag- aspect makes a difference. I've got a South facing set of beds which do ok regardless, but main area is north sloping so that does get delayed. We've had plum blossom frosts 3 of the last 4 years and I'm getting fed up of them!

Some excitement in the Mad thread but again 10 days off-could we be in line for a late winter early spring major event? Personally i've got a sneaking feeling that a cold dry spring might be on the cards-which will be a sod 'cos it mucks up my veg gardening.

perfect-we took the pick up down to try to get out of the spray (but also cause me parking embarrassment). Hope you don't have to hunt deer with the jack r could take a while.

Glad you hillbillies got snow! Just got back from the big smoke-about as bad driving conditions as I've seen without snow! Heavy driving rain, spray, windy all the way. Next rain band around Stoke now I reckon-more heavy rain-happy days......... Fire now lit, brandy and ginger in hand aaaaaand chill. Where are we at with sow? Settling over 250m?

pretty manky in the marginals today-dull and breezy in the morning, cooled down with rain into the afternoon 7.5C. Some excitement for next week but seems to be a lot of fluctuations in models. Could do with it hanging on until after Thursday. Got to drive down to the smoke sadly.
Iceaxecrampon Rugby did mine, but really saw it off crawling a long a river bank sneaking up on a trout! (#fishingisadangeroussport!)

Iceaxecrampon Sorry to hear that-always concerning. I had an injection in mine which together with exercise has settled it down a bit (mind you I can't run!) or has yours gone past that stage now?

Just having a catch up, full work madness in place now so can't get on as much. Interesting contrast between tonight and last night. Beautiful clear moonlit night now +3.0C-would have gone for a walk if I wasn't so tired! Whereas Jocelyn was lively here-stronger and gustier than Isha, Possibly a little more of a westerly component and I wonder if some instability led a couple of little troughs or squall lines developed in the flow? Max gusts at Capel Curig were fierce-90mph for Isha and 97mph for Jocelyn apparently reported. (I Like Capel Curig, but not sure if i'd want to live there!) Mad thread now raising some questions about whether the current mild Atlantic stream possibly isn't as entrenched as thought-for me this winter could yet bring some surprises-it seems to be an affair of rapid change when change happens. (or am I just hoping?).

5.7C dull in the marginals-wind light/moderate may be picking up a little. Going to do a few outside jobs before things really pick up.

Had a look at fax at 3hrs and 48hrs. Going out to move anything lose in the garden!! Then going to service the chainsaw-might be on for some firewood,,,,,,,,,,

Surprisingly stayed just around freezing for most of last night in the marginals. -0.3 at midnight + 0.6 at 7,00am with hardly any melting so still a patchy white scene!. Since then rising steadily to +1.5 light rain and winds rising so next phase is here! Still wondering about warning upgrades in our area-looks to have potential.

-5.0 C in the marginals overnight, currently-0.3. Been bright with high cloud all day, followed by nice pink sunset, snow hanging on in shady areas, I expected it to melt totally today. Fax chart at 72 hrs looks a little exciting- I reckon possibility of further extensions to orange warning area.

well flippin 'eck dry and bright (ish) again. Actually managed to reduce the jobs list. (a bit). Still expecting a dry and possibly cool March-occasional model support over recent days but looks like lots of uncertainty and flip-flopping.
