Heard in the radio today "heavy snow set to hit the uk, however, the worst of the weather will not hit Cumbria." Typical and inductive of this winter so far, sticking to my guns and only expecting a few flurries At best with no major accumulations here in south lakes.

Why what's wrong with that? A practically nationwide snow event that will affect everyone apart from those in north west England! He has every right to be done with winter and look forward to spring. This winter has been bloody awful in terms of not living to potential and all the let downs we have had.

That's fair enough mate and I respect your opinion. Just going off how things have gone so far this winter, particularly for me in my location with what has been countless disappointments. At least I think anything that does come across won't amount to much as the Pennines will break everything down, maybe the best we can fair is a couple cm's max. What irks me most is that whatever we get here in the north west the east will get 4x worse - that bothers me - so it will be a case if not watching any media outlooks next week. It really has been a truly bizzare but ultimately disappointing winter. BC.

Still not expecting much for anyone, certainly not in my location at least. Will definitely be an 'all east affair'. Given how this winter has gone so far I am fully expecting to miss out here at least here in south lakes anyway. We have had enough chances with north westerlies that have petered out and not delivered. Sorry guys I know you don't like my honesty but I have been bang on so far this winter.

Don't be ridiculous! I can assure you we won't be in the level 4 category in this part of the country! Where have you been this winter! I hope you realise that it is the east of the country that will be affected by this easterly, we wont get anything major here I can assure you!!

Had a gander through the forum and given all the talk of this easterly, bear in mind, at least personally for myself that given the so many disappointments and let downs this winter, we will probably miss out on anything significant once again. Eastern areas will benefit most, obviously, as anything that usually comes from the east is broken down by the Pennines. Yes I know we have benefited from easterly's in the best, but not often, and we certainly wont this time around. We have had our chance with a multitude of north westerly flows this winter that have either not materialised or not been significant enough to get excited about. Such a poor winter in regard to the fact that it, potentially, could have been amazing. I will quite literally be avoiding any news channels next week as watching eastern England get inundated with bags of heavy snow while we will got absolutely nothing will only make the depression worse!!

Can't quite belive you got an inch! I live 5 miles from Windermere and we had a megre 1mm sprinkling so you were very lucky, or typically, I was very unlucky AGAIN!!!! Thought things were bad, but when your missing out on decent snow by <5 miles....well...ugh...I give up!

Once again woken up to nothing whilst the majority of everyone else in the region has decent snow. Has happened countless times over the years. Cumbria is a shocking place to live for snowfall, always seem to miss out an anything significant. Not hopeful, or for that matter remotely interested in tonight/tomorrow will no doubt either miss out again or it will rain. Feeling spring like out there right now. Well that's me done for this year guys, see you next winter!

The most fainting of dusting here that does'nt even cover all surfaces. Pathetic. Angry and annoyed just isn't the word right now. Really glad northwestsnow got a dumping tho, so some positivity, cheers mate you have my back up throughout when pretty much everyone else has been against me on here - you deserve it more than anyone!

Ambleside/Windermere. It has been horrendous here again this year. Seem to miss out on everything.

Located south lakes mate. Missed a huge snow shower last night which left a covering less than 30 miles north. Today missed two significant showers to the south this time, again by less than 30 miles.

So while you guys are all showing off about the amount of snow you have all got spare a thought for us north of say Lancaster who have had absolutely sod all from this. Can't believe how many times this has happened not only this winter but over the years. With no significant snow expected to hit the lakes/Cumbria I Can honestly say I feel physically sick right now, does not exactly help when suffering from severe depression, sometimes the simplest joys in life help. Rant over!

Huge shower coming off the Irish Sea set too miss me by a whisker. Think I am going to give up for this winter and stop browsing the forum and posting in this thread until next winter. Literally feel physically sick right now. Another incredibly frustrating and unlucky winter for me. A 2cm fall of wet snow followed by a rapid thaw doesn't cut the mustard for me. Au revoir!
