  1. OK I'm at a loss here. what are snow prospects for my part of the region? I am fearing my prediction may be right, set to miss out on significant snow again! That would be 6 years!
  2. Going against the popular opinion and giving my opinion that a forecasted snow event is slipping away and will probably not amount to much is not causing friction. I wont be victimised for giving my opinion in real life or online! And I will stand by my original opinion that Tuesdays forecasted snow will not be significant as originally thought for many in our region. *Think I might take a break brake and poop back later*
  3. Fingers crossed mate, I always appreciate your posts - you are very level-headed and humble which is certainly needed during these fricticous times.
  4. Significant snow was forecasted for Tuesday but it looks like the potential for anything significant is starting to fade. I am on about Tuesdays forecasted snow. Sorry am I missing something or is that hard to understand?
  5. It is looking like the prospects for Tuesdays 'event' are starting to fade. I would put this winter on a par with 16/17 - marginally better in the fact I have had about 12 hours of a minimal snow cover. Winter 16/17 brought none.
  6. Posted originally as Barmada Casten - rubbed a few people up the wrong way and forgot my log in details. Posted as Hot Snow and lost those details as well. Always lurked and then re-registered as Barmada_Casten a few years ago. I think Tuesdays system will slide south of the region, we may get the trail ands of some weak showers but nothing significant for the majority. And no problem we have some good discussions but not personal or heated.
  7. I have been a member on NW since 2003 in the good old days hen the likes of Stephen Prudence and TWS (Thundery Wintry Showers) were regulars. I post on here to keep everyone in check and to provide some balance when people get carried away with snow potential for our region. Once again it may be possible that I have got this one right. Er is that OK?
  8. Looking at synoptic and going from past experience I am not expecting anything significant at all here to lower levels, maybe slight dusting if lucky like Wednesday just gone The usual suspects at higher ground in the region will do well as ever. Got a very good accuracy rate with my predictions so I am confident on this one. *Pleaser note this is for my location*
  9. At no point did I moan about not seeing snow. Just making the point that I got my prediction right after being lambasted by certain members of the forum. Please read my posts if you are going to quote them. Thank you. BC.
  10. A meagre dusting a couple on Wednesday night the only settling snow I have seen this winter, not expecting much from Tuesday's 'event' either. Must admit I was rather chuffed with my predictions for the last few days 'events' where 'something significant' was over-hyped and forecasted by nw members - it rubbed a few people up the wrong way, including some who live local to me, but ultimately I was right (again.)
  11. I don't want to say I told you so but........ I would not expect much from the Tuesday event either. This does happen every year, so many members on the forum get far too carried away. And to be honest I couldn't care much about easterlies anyway, they don't really affect our region that significantly and you end up watching other people getting caked in snow when we casually get nothing. Polar north westerly set ups (akin to said Tuesdays event) are by far the best for our region! Barmada.
  12. Hilarious stuff on the MOD thread as the predicted easterly seems to be collapsing! Got the popcorn out, the amount of times I have seen this over the last 15 years is hilarious, don't know why people get so carried away with it!
  13. On the mountains yes, but not too lower levels. I would expect snowfall to pass south, east, north and west of where I am ... just like last year.
  14. Just to let you guys know I am in central Lake District (Ambleside area) so there will be no snow at all - snow will never fall where I am - this was confirmed last year when during the South west snowstorm I was in a 5 mile radius area in Barnstaple that received NO snow, and on the night I left Cumbria to drive to Devon they received there highest most significant snowfall of the year. There will be no snow in lower parts of the Lake District where I am during this 'predicted' cold to come.....
  15. I can better this.... On the night I left Cumbria last year to visit family in Devon at end of Feb my location received its largest and most significant snowfall of the winter which I missed.... I was heading for Barnstaple which was forecasted over 12 hours of heavy snow and snowstorms in the famous SW winter event in last year. We got nothing but light snow flurries with no accumulations as I ended up in a bizarre 5 circular radius around Barnstaple Bay area that was the only part of the south-west not to be hit by the snowstorm. It was sickening, stomach turning and gut-wrenching. That was the year I gave up.....and pretty much stopped following this forum. This most recent downgrade of potential snow has not surprised me one iota.
  16. Given what has happened to me over the last 48 hours this winter gets a zero. Period.
  17. Patchy covering of snow in barnstaple, all surfaces not covered. Is barnstaple the only place in sw England that does not have accumulations of snow?
  18. Innorth Devon and this is the snow I got. A dusty MGM that doesn't cover all surfaces. Areas the the north east south and west recording well over 20cms. FML.
  19. Tonight is the night I accepted my life is a parody. I am in the Truman show. The heaviest snowfall in the south west ever and I am sat here in north Devon where patchy snow doesn't cover the pavements. Everywhere to the north south east and west are recording 30cm snowfalls. In Cumbria where I live major snowfalls have narrowly missed me by a mater of miles. I feel physically sick, wondering how on earth, snow just seems to avoid me. FML. Had enough.
