Ahem, I believe it has now been 5 years between Blog entries, Daniel is almost 6 and Jacob, oh yes, we had another boy, is 3 and a half.

I am not sure if 5 years is a record between posts but I gather most of my followers have either passed on to pastures new, have passed into the blue yonder or have dropped me as a friends for being the most un-active and boring NW member.

    We had a storm today.....

That's all I have to add.

Thanks for listening, see you in 5.

Well I have just read my last blog entry and realised that I never actually gove everyone the wonderful news via my blog *slaps forehead*!

Well I can of course confirm that Daniel was born a year to the day. He had his Birthday Party on Saturday and it was a quietish affair attended by family and friends. I have quickly come to the conclusion that buying toddlers expensive presents with a fine array of sparkly colours and fantastically lifelike noises is pointless. I have never seen a child get some much exitement from a plastic net bag that originally contained a vast variation of Mega Blocks. Then there was the Cardboard box and plastic tray that contained his magnetic building blocks......

I have therefore decided that I shall not be recycling until after Christmas, all toilet roll inserts, empty chicken storage trays and general packaging will be wrapped up for Daniel's second Christmas. This should save us about £500.

Well he seemed to really enjoy his party, so much going on, so many pressies and so much food. We got some great video footage of his twin cousins opening all his presents as he didn't seem to get past the first, and there was a lack of patience amongst the remaining children. We did establish that he is very generous and let everyone else play with his toys (not that he had a choice, kids will be kids) whilst he played 'Peek a Boo' with the remainder of guests from under the Dining table.

So all in all a fantastic day and a stressfull, worrying and scary but fantastic first year.

Please revisit in a year for my next blog entry!

It seems like less than a week since I gave you all the false alarm scare with the possible delivery of Baby Dazza.

Well at 2.30am this morning Mrs Dazza's waters broke so we headed off to the hospital.

Mrs Dazza is now on a ward and I got shipped home at 6am. After having no sleep I am on my way back to the hospital with a list of gatherings which Mrs Dazza has sent to me via text (this is over and above the Hospital bag she already has).

At time of writing Mrs Dazza has not as yet gone into labour, however, as the waters seemed to splash their way all round the Bed, the Carpet, the Bathroom, the Hallway, the Kitchen, My Car and probably a few peoples shoes, Baby Dazza will now have to be delivered.

I am therefore hoping that my next Blog entry will be of joyous news.

Hold tight, there is a long rough ride ahead, but i'll be back...

Well Mrs Dazza has gone into hyper mode this morning, cleaning windows, washing up, mopping, doing things she's been putting off for months. Is it all symptoms of nesting!

Mrs Dazza was sent to the Hospital during the week by our Obstetrician to have some steriod injections. We were told during our Antenatal appointments that you will normally be given Steroid injections if it was thought you may go into premature labour , you can imaging what was going through our mind at the time. Now Mrs Dazza is nesting, hmm .

In fact since I started typing this blog entry some evidence has come to the fore that the motions could actually be starting (according to Mrs Dazza's call to the Hospital). I am now in major panic mode

Well, I suppose all I can say is.... watch this space...

Errr, must go, bye for now...

Dear NW - It has been 3 months since my last [s]confession[/s] Blog entry!

I feel I have let all of my Blog followers down, A scan photo had been requested and several occassions and I made promises that I did not meet, and for this I apologise.

Mrs Dazza is getting bigger by the day and a couple of nights ago I received my first kick. Mrs Dazza had been dissapointed that I hadn't felt any of the kicks she had been experiencing and I think it was getting her down to be honest. I therefore decided to stick around above her naval for a bit and tried talking to baby Dazza. I put my head onto to Mrs Dazza's tummy and I got a kick in the forehead, and I mean a big kick. It didn't stop there. No sooner did I receive a kick in the head, but I I then got one straight in the chin before I had a chance to move! Little blighter, I think Baby Dazza was telling me off for not being on kick awareness duty 24/7. I have learnt my lesson and we now chat frequently.

Everyone around us (and I mean everyone) insists Baby Dazza is going to be a boy, I am the only one to dispute that. I like to be different and to challenge others views (well the views of the Mother-in-law), so I am insisting it's going to be a girl. Then again, going by the kicking maybe I will be proven wrong!

We have been given the 24th October as a due date. This doesn't fit in with our dates. Mrs Dazza had planned our nights of passion with military precision and timing (we're getting old, so we need to plan to make sure we have a stress free and relaxing day to help store up our energy for the evening). According to the date we have been given it would mean that Mrs Dazza conceived 2 weeks after the event, although we knew Mrs Dazza was pregnant at that time. This can mean there are only 5 possibilities:

    1. Our Consultant has been drinking heavily.
    2. We have lost 2 weeks of our lives.
    3. It was a very long session of romance.
    4. I have the most powerful and long living sperm in the history of man and am due to be contacted by the Guiness Book of Records forthwith.
    5. There may be other possibilities.

Anyway, enough from me, here's over to a portrait of Baby Dazza taken 2 weeks ago:

    [attachment=65792:23_06_08.jpg]

I hope you can make something out?

Well they do say that a new house brings new beginnings and as it has been a while since I made my last blog entry, so I felt that now was a time as good as any to spread some new news.
Mrs Dazza and I visited the hospital this morning, for what is our 12 week scan.......
Yep, you guessed it, at long last there is a baby Dazza on the way
We have been through the usual, who do we tell, when do we tell them, yada yada, but we feel that now the 12 week period is past that we can be a little more open about who we tell, so that's a potential 7,288 people in one go then!
Mrs Dazza is completely milking the situation though, and everyone seems to be backing her up, no more doing this, no more doing that, and that's just my input. The morning sickness has now subsided and i'm feeling a lot better thank you, I feel sorry for anyone else expecting though, there isn't a single Ginger Nut Biscuit left in NI, Mrs Dazza has had the lot!
Today was actually our 5th scan, we decided to go private, just to be on the safe side. At the first scan we thought we saw something , at the second scan we were told that it was a case of 70/30 for pregnancy (that was a real downer of a moment), the 3rd scan was because Mrs Dazza was in some pain and we didn't want to take any chances, we saw a different consultant (as our was on hols) and he turn't the sound on, on the scanning thingy, and...... there was little heartbeat  . Mrs Dazza started crying and I was very close to tears, what a life changing moment that was!. The 4th was at the request of our consultant just so she could verify the heartbeat for herself, and the 5th was today, again just making sure all was well and that progress was being made.
So, fingers crossed that all goes well from here onwards and that Baby D grows to be a strong healthy baby, only time will tell.
    Thanks for listening...

Well it's official, Christmas came early for the Dazza household.
We moved into our new home on the 1st December and now have many further years of trying to get it right!!
I hope to post some final photo's soon, well as soon as we have tidied the house up anyway.
Thanks for all your kind comments everyone and your support throughout all the trouble we had.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my Blog followers a very Happy Christmas and I hope you all have a great one.
    Bye for now

Well it's been a long old wait but we're finally getting there.
After all of the trouble with the utilities we finally have them in. Believe it or not they both kept their word and the Water was in on the 2nd October and the Electricity on the 11th. We should have the heating on this coming week (although we are still awaiting the glass for the front door - as you can see, but we hope that will be here by the end of the week).
The ground works have also been completed and the mounds of earth removed. It almost looks ready to move in.
Well, fingers crossed (and with a bit of luck) we will be in the house within the next month, slightly ahead of schedule. Still plenty to do, but worth every moment...
Here's some photo's taken on Monday of this week:

Well we are really pushing on with the house now and we appeared to be making super progress (but then the bureaucratic public services bureau got in the way!).
The Plasterer has completely finished, the Plumber has been in and finished and we have even had the finished floor level put in, so it now feels a lot more homely. We were hoping to have the heating on to dry things out properly so we can get in and start to put a white wash on the newly plastered walls, the only thing is we need Water and Electricity.
Now the Water situation is completely my fault. I have been sitting on my hands waiting for the Water Service to contact me with a 'Tap in' date so that we can dig up the road and connect to the Mains, However, it appears that it was them who were waiting for to contact them to tell them we were ready for connection . This was actioned on Thursday and we have been given a connection date of the 2nd October (not too long to wait).
The Electricity plonkers were out with us back in July and they asked us to dig a trench across our land, under the river which runs down the side of the property, through my Father in Laws land and up to an Electricity Pole on the land where they would connect up to the transformer. We dug the trench and the Engineers came out and ran the cable, we filled in the trench an awaited connection.
Now if I take a few steps back, I applied for the Electricity connection in May and I spoke to an Electricity boffin on the phone who asked for the land reference etc so he could do a site assessment to give us an idea of cost for supply. We chatted on the phone for a bit and I asked him when they were likely to be out to do the survey. To cut a long story short, the Electrcity boffin said 'oh we don't do those site visit surveys anymore, it's all on the computer now, we can plot it all out from here'. Now being that I live IT (Computers) I thought good on ya, that should save some time. Zoom forward to last Monday. I rang the Electricity company and my language was a bit 'electric'. I asked them where the hell the engineer had gone. He ran cables 6 weeks ago and hasn't connected up to the transformer. The Electricity boffin said 'oh yeah, sorry we haven't been in contact, there appears to be a problem'. When I asked what the problem was, he told me that there wasn't a transformer on the pole. This I actually knew, but why should I have relayed that info to him. If they couldn't get off their fat ar*es and come out and do a live site survey then thats there fault.
Anyway, he now says that they will have to put up a transformer and there is a significant cost in doing so. I asked who the hell was going to pay for that then, because we certainly weren't. He begrudgingly blamed himself for not doing the survey properly and said that they would have to stump up the cost!!!
So in conclusion we should have a Water connection on the 2nd October and Electricity which has been scheduled for the 11th October oh and we've saved somewhere in the region of 5 grand for a transformer .
Oh and no photo's this time as you won't really notice anything different from the outside at the moment....... (You'll be glad to know).

Stopped at the house on the way home last night to see if the Plasterers had finished the inside of the house ready for the Plumber and definately had to do a double take. Our house has sprung some colour! Mrs Dazza picked the finish for the house and I hadn't even seen a picture of the colour, but low and behold it hit me straight in the face when I spotted it.
I actually like it very much and as such Mrs Dazza had a lovely grin on her face all night, as she felt delighted that she got something right, I actually turn't round and said, but dear, you know you are always right, and will always be right, sure you know that. That followed with a slap to my back for apparently being cheeky .
The Mother in Law then got on the phone to Mrs Dazza last as she had also seen it and started whinging at Mrs Dazza about the colour, 'Its too dark, it's too dark' is all she could say (not forgetting it's still wet and will get even lighter). Mrs Dazza did reply, 'well is it your house? because if it is you can have what ever colour you want', Mother in Law replied ' well does Dazza like it' Mrs Dazza said 'Yes, of course, he loves it' Mother in Law replied 'well thats all that matters then'. Anyone would think I have a hold of my Mother in Law with a comment like that . To be honest she would have known that I would have been ringing her back with a fistfull of comments and statements after her conversation with Mrs Dazza if she didn't back down.
    Anyway here's some photo's:

In this photo you can still see (to the left) where they will be continuing on from and the grey it was before.

Popped out to the house on the way home this evening as the sun was shining and it was a glorius evening. Whilst looking at the front of the house I noticed it looked different but wasn't sure why.
See if you can tell between the snap below and yesterdays photos:

Oh and also I heard a customer fell through a glass table at work today and needed 3 stitches at the hospital. Oh well, hey ho, that's the company sued to the hilt. No doubt it will close down, so its just as well I am leaving at the end of next week to start another job
  12. Dazza
I can't believe it's been 2 months since my last update. We have now picked our Kitchen and Bathroom suite and I have been unduly slated for the amount of AV sockets I have installed in the Living Room by everyone who has been out to the house for a 'look' without being invited. I now have a list of who is banned from visiting us in the future. That's most of Mrs Dazza's family banned anyway.
So here are the latest photo's which were taken yesterday:

and one from the front looking in...

  13. Dazza
These photo's were taken last Saturday.
Looks tiny from the front, which I am well pleased about, as this was stipulated in our planning permission being granted, but it obviously all happens as you go back into the house and beyond. As you can see we now have a roof a semi completed Garage and internal doorframes (not pictured).
We are hoping to have windows in within the next few weeks too .
    Here's the photees:

  14. Dazza
Things are really shifting now. Looks like we'll be ready for the roof soon! We also have an outside toilet in a lovely shade of Blue, as donated by the hard working builders.............
    Anyway, here's the photees:
The house from an alternative angle to the norm:

The house from the front in full view:

The Garage (seeing as its a new addition):

  15. Dazza
Well as Beka has asked for it here's the latest house build update. I gave it a break for a couple of weeks as I have been sooooo busy, but here's the latest photo's to add to your gallery!

    Latest view from the front

Looking down the side via the Sun Room

View from the back end! (of the Kitchen towards the back door)

Looking in through the front door

I decided to climb the scaffold to get an overall perspective of the upstair space that we hope to convert in the future. I got the widest angle shot that I could whilst dangling from the side of the building!
Well thats it for now. Check back soon for the next update!
  16. Dazza
Took the opportunity to visit the site again this morning quite early seeing as it was sooooo nice out there .
I have taken some more pictures to share with you all (especially Beka). From the naked eye it doesn't look like much has been done, but the builders are at the same level all round now (except the conservatory) and they have also started the secondary internal wall blocks.
I also have a dilema. We have a river running down the side of the property (see photo's). I would dearly like to make a feature of it in the garden (tier off the river and run it through with a bridge etc), but Mrs Dazza doesn't want too . Although we don't have children yet, we haven't discounted the fact that we would like a family before it gets too late. Mrs Dazza is therefore concerned that little feet may fall into the 'feature' and is scared of this happening, hence her current disapprovement.
What do you all think? Your comments would be appreciated (hopefully in my selfish favour ).
    Anyway, the photo's are below:

  17. Dazza
Well I know you have all been waiting eagerly for the house build update so here we go (best explained in photo's)
    Pre Build 27th Feb 2007:
    (View from the site)
    Foundations laid 3rd March 2007:

First Layers of Blocks in 10th March:
(Mrs Dazza thinks she has spotted something)!
Concrete slabs laid and Concrete base complete April 1st 2007:
    (Hard Dazza!!)
Oh what a difference a week makes! April 8th 2007:

Well thats it for now...... more updates as they happen soon!!
  18. Dazza
Well it's been a while since my last entry , anyway, we gave the house build over to a contractor last week and he stated that it would be a few months before he could start, which we thought was fine as it gives us some time to get a few things sorted.
Mrs Dazza passed our site today and witnessed the concrete footing being poured , as much as we are grateful for the quick start, it has taken us back a bit..... Anyway must run as I now have a million things to do in a week.
I have decided to photo the build in stages and share them with all you lovely people, so the first photo's will follow soon........
  19. Dazza
    Well everyone, it's now official.
We have sold . We have received the dosh (sort of) and the house is no longer ours
It nearly never happened yet again, even though we had their signed contracts but that's a story for another day.
Anyway, lets just say that our solicitor and her assistant are no longer speaking to me, but hey, why should Mrs Dazza & I be the only victims of one persons incompetance. The solicitor wouldn't even allow us to go and collect our house sale proceeds, we have been advised that they are posting them out to us (how unprofessional is that). Perhaps it's my fault by blowing a stack at them last Tuesday, I have never known of someone to be so lost for words at the other end of the phone, but then again, I did have 20 - 21 months worth of frustration to release (verbal frustration).
Time to find a new Solicitor me thinks.....
    Let the building begin...........
  20. Dazza
Mrs Dazza is off work today and asked me to get together a list of house related stuff for her to do today.
I gave her a list as long as my arm (and there were no complaints, just excitement) and as I type she is no doubt either challenging a builder , fighting with the bank about a new mortgage, or in with the solicitor signing documents.
She's sooooooooo excited, as long as she keeps up the momentum I can sit back and relax (I wish).
  21. Dazza
I have just spoken to our solicitors assistant and she has advised that they have received the signed contract in today .
The contract outlines a completion date of 16th January  , they want us to do something else for them but it isn't a condition of contract , what should we do?
  22. Dazza
Well our buyers stated they would contact me yesterday to let me know what they are doing. I have heard nothing and think it might be a tad too early to start chasing them?
All this waiting is doing my nut.
Mrs Dazza has been getting so excited over the weekend over the hope of completion and as such has started to look at new bathroom suites, furniture etc (WE DON'T HAVE WALLS YET), still there's no harm in enquiring I suppose.
I also got home from work to find our bed looking like something out of a Bed Shops front window. Mrs Dazza really had gone to town and purchased a new Quilt, Pillow, Sheets, Pillow Cases, Quilt Cover, some Cushions, a Fancy Pillow thingy, and a Round Fancy Pillow thingy, oh and one of those things you drape over the end of the bed.
I felt I was sleeping in a palace last night, but kept waking wondering how much it all cost, no doubt the credit card bill will magic itself away from the doormat when it arrives!
  23. Dazza
Well as you all may know we have been swaying too and fro with the whole house disaster situation.
Well I sent a text to our buyers yesterday to give them some grief as to what they are doing now that Christmas is over. Low and behold I get a text back saying can't really talk now. Mum died yesterday. Funeral is tommorow, i'll speak to you at the beginning of the week .
I didn't know what to say!
Those of you who had been reading my blog will have known that the mum was poorly, but still!
  24. Dazza
Well the New Year is almost upon us, and yes, owing to the storm that has been passing over us today all our guests have cancelled.
There is a stash of booze to be drunk and tonnes of food to be eaten, so looks like the remainder of the night will be filled by getting drunk and fat.
Well a Happy New Year to you all.
  25. Dazza
Well I had a phone call a couple of days ago about the house and lets just say it was the most positive phone call I have had in the last 20 months in relation to it.
I won't say too much at the moment, but there may be some breaking news in the next 12 months.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, YES, I STILL HAVE A COLD.
