  1. Thats quite a shocker of a stat. AGW dare I say.. Beware it includes PWS but on the whole you get an idea. The air is drier in SE. It was a decent cover in Coventry Dec 2010 I was there! 2 or 3 inches just a mile from you!
  2. But yes since1990 poor, although there was Feb 1991, Jan 1987. Jan and Dec 2010 must have had good runs of snow lying, there was here ?
  3. OK I am taking the dog out soon will try for you
  4. 1979, 1981/82 off the top of my head, if not 30 days close too it. Here 1979: https://twitter.com/bablakewx/status/557101886499999745 He really is worth a follow.
  5. Oh it has late 80s, early to mid 70s poor as well (just before you were born). Same old UK weather..
  6. Makes not a jot of difference in the Winter its all about the airmass. Trouble is that average consists of years with over 30 days and the other more plentiful with near zero!
  7. Look at this map and select dew point good overview: http://weatherobs.com/ North MIds mostly just below 0c south mostly just above.
  8. Looks like snow now on the Cov webcam, its will turn to snow under the heavier blobs in this very marginal set up due to evap cooling even below 100masl.
  9. Its barely moved - perhaps edged a little east towards me thats all!
  10. The theory that colder air will move into the Midlands from the NW after midnight may be flawed, temperatures over NW England and NI are generally similar to those over the Midlands at present, just a hill event afraid
  11. Clear intervals and frosty last night. Cloudier with a little drizzle or sleet before dawn. Little wind Rather cloudy today, with a sunny periods early afternoon, a few drizzly showers afternoon. Rather cold with the light east breeze this morning becoming moderate or fresh SE this afternoon. Drizzle to sleety rain this evening. Min -3.3c @ 2300 yesterday evening Max 5.1c @ 1325 Rain yesterday trace Rain since 0900 today 1mm approx Est sun 1 hour Max gust SSE 25mph @ 1405 Currently Cloudy, little rain 2.6c/ 95%/ 1000mbar falling
  12. The little low is spiralling over Pembrokeshire currently.
  13. Drizzle on the way back from Aber just, now sleety rain too mild for snow. 2.6c/ DP 1.9c
  14. I take it the heavier stuff coming into SW Wales is rain?
  15. I sense this may be another mainly Peak District and Snowdonia event - orographic enhancement.
  16. Lets hope so (for the majority) Driving up to Aber and back today pretty sure there will be no issues here.
  17. Glad the moods improved in here Good luck look forward to seeing it build up on the Midlands webcams!
  18. Have a look It looks cloudy here but probably still high level hence its -2c and frosty.
  19. There was nt much on offer in any case at low levels apart from the odd run suggesting higher amounts. It would take heavy precipitation causing evaporative cooling for any decent amounts below 250m.
  20. B----y optimists misleading everyone Joke! still a chance for some places..
  21. Best just look out the window and at the radar from tomorrow really.
  22. Snow is rather difficult to predict you do realise?
  23. Clear with a hard frost last night, little wind. Sunny periods to 1330 then a layer of Cs blotted out the sun although with receding blue sky visible to the NE for a few more hours. Very cold, little wind, shade frost and ice lasted all day. Min -7.6c @ 0804 Max 2.1c @ 1323 Rain yesterday 0.2mm Rain since 0900 today Nil Est sun 5 hours Max gust NNE 8mph @ 0020 Currently : Clear intervals developing, frosty -1.8c/ 93%/ 1012mbar falling
