  1. Indeed imagine how unpopular he would be this morning if he'd told us we'd all be waking up to a covering
  2. Hats off to Derek for calling this one correct, little in the way of snow across Wales.
  3. Agreed its going as expected some spots epecially above 200m will get a covering tonight.
  4. Thousands of miles over a warm Atlantic warming surface layers, plus its windy mixing the air up.
  5. As usual height is everything
  6. Trouble is that up to later Saturday there are 'warm' sectors coming down from the NW, doubt we will get much in the way of snow (below 200m) until Saturday night and then dependent on how showers align.
  7. Dont get too excited many of the showers across Wales are sleet or rain this evening (not that there are many in the first place)
  8. Looks like they veer more NW in the morning, still sub -5c uppers and sub 0c DP at that stage but milder uppers/ DPs arrive by evening. Seems not cold enough for snow all Friday then conditions set to turn more favourable and northerly during Saturday according to GFS.
  9. -7c uppers and we are still marginal! Does nt feel cold enough here, 3.5c/ dp 0.2c.
  10. Mild night with a little rain or drizzle at times, moderate SW breeze. Squally heavy rain and hail showers around 0900, a few more showers to 1100. Cloud broke 1100 to sunny intervals and mostly dry. Fresh to strong west/ NW wind. Rather cold. 24 hour min 2.5c @ 1727 Overnight min 5.5c yesterday evening 24 hour max 9.1c @ 0643 Daytime max 6.5c @ 0900 Rain yesterday 6.0mm Rain since 0900 today 3.5mm approx Est sun 3 hours Max gust SW 36mph @ 0812 Currently Clear spells, quite windy 3.5c/ 79%/ 1003mbar steady
  11. Still a way off could be totally different at 4 days away.
  12. Yep nothing since the hail showers this morning!
  13. 4.1c/ dp 0.8c ingredients getting there just need the showers!
  14. Cold front coming through here currently, getting heavy showers with hail and squally winds, more important though the temperature is plummeting, down from 9.1c (max) at 0700 to 5.9c now and dropping!
  15. Speak for your own area, inland West Wales will do well from snow showers later today through to tomorrow, then marginality sets in before very cold air arrives Saturday night or Sunday!
  16. But surely he would not let personal preferences affect his forecasting judgement?
  17. I tweeted Derek that I expect a couple of inches here Wed/ Thu and he favourited it
  18. No bias at all - we are in a mild sector and around 10c first thing tomorrow then a sharp drop off afternoon:

  22. Our northerlies ain't what they used to be https://xmetman.wordpress.com/2015/01/26/thumping-the-528-line/
  23. I will try legritter, that is if we get any snow showers? Pretty sure we will though!
