  1. Think it was dry overnight. Not that cold. Min: 2.5c was at 1800 yesterday! Currently: Mainly cloudy, moderate NW/W breeze. Temp: 3.7c. Pressure: 1000 mbar, rising slowly.
  2. Rain at times last night. Yesterdays rain to 0900: 7.2mm. Min: 3.5c was at 1930 in the evening of yesterday. Day of sunny intervals and brief rain and hail showers. Cold front passing through now, wind has done a u-turn from SSW to NNW in past hour. Temperature dropping off steadily, currently 6.5c. Pressure: 1022 mbar, steady. Heavy rain now. 4mm since 1400.
  4. Foggy from 2300 yesterday into the night, frosty too. Min: -0.1c. Some sunny spells earlier, but cloudy since 1300 hours. Mild again. Max: 9.0c Pressure: 1031 mbar, falling.
  5. Just 4 air frosts and lowest was only -2c.
  6. Clear and frosty here. +0.5c, rather different to most of Wales though: Wales current temps
  7. Saw my first Daffodil in bloom 4 days ago in Aberystwyth where its milder. Snowdrops all out now, and crocus starting to flower too. Plenty of blooms in Aber kept on all winter, and certain buds on shrubs are opening already. I have had Primrose flowering much of the winter in the garden, with lots out in flower now. Also much birdsong past week or so, especially Song Thrush as well as a few Blackbird chancing it! Bluebell spikes coming through too, which is plain stupid for January! I know some of the garden daffodil varieties do bloom early, but i rarely used to see them out before late Feb, now you seem to get the odd one by late Jan most years.
  8. QUOTE Great weather for doing the RSPB bird watch  6 Blackbird, 5 Greenfinch, 1 Robin, 5 Starling, 4 Woodpigeon, 2 Magpie, 2 Sparrow, 3 Crow, 2 Swallows QUOTE Damn forgot about the bird watch, have been working today! Are you sure about the Swallows? Don't usually get those during the winter! Clear spells early night a touch of ground frost. Min: 2.6c @ 0300. Dry again yesterday. Cloudy late night til late morning, then a lovely sunny afternoon. Max: 11.0c @ 1200. Clear, temperature dropping fast early this evening. Currently: 3.0c. Pressure: 1034 mbar, steady.
  9. Nice, mild, dry day. Clear/ sunny intervals, cloudy at times. Dry yesterday. Min: 6.4c. Max: 11.5c. Currently: Clear spells, 5.5c. Pressure: 1034 mbar, steady.
  10. A nice drying out day, with high pressure making a welcome return (unless you were hoping for a 300mm month ). Clear intervals, still mild last night. Min: 6.2c @ 0900. Yesterdays rain: 2.8mm (=pathetic!). Sunny periods, cooler by day, breezy. Max: 7.5c @ 1400. Clear, ground frost this evening. Currently: +1.0c. Pressure: 1034 mbar, rising slowly.
  11. A dull, very mild day, with spells of drizzle (whats new!). Min: 8.5c @ 2100. Max: 10.7c @ 1130. Yesterdays rain: 2.0mm. Currently: Moderate rain and drizzle. Temp: 9.5c. Pressure: 1019 mbar, falling slowly.
  12. That particular 'rainy season' has ended! Periods rain/drizzle am, few showers pm. Yesterdays rain: 18.3mm Rain since 0900: 4.4mm. Min: 9.5c. Max: 10.5c. Colder and windy this evening, clear intervals. Currently: 5.9c. Pressure: 1014 mbar, rising.
  13. Another drenching of rain and drizzle much of today. Exceptionally mild last night, min: 11.3c. Yesterdays rain to 0900: 14.1mm. Dull, murky, hill and coast fog (I was in Aberystwyth earlier). Max: 11.9c (only 0.6c range then!). Rain since 0900: 10mm. Currently: Continuous light rain/ drizzle (what else  ). Temp: 11.1c. Pressure: 1018 mbar, steady.
  14. Shaping up to be a remarkable month rain-wise here. Have now broken the 200mm barrier, which usually would be a large enough total for the whole month. 300mm has happened locally, though I have not had such a figure (until this month perhaps?). I think 350-400mm would be as high as it can get here at this sort of altitude though. 60mm past 3 days, from the persistent rain and drizzle that has never really been heavy! 135mm in the 8 days alone.
  15. Very mild, dull, windy, spells of rain and drizzle from 0400, rarely heavy. Min: 5.4c @ 0100. Max: 11.8c @ 2145. Rain since 0400: 17.5mm (includes yesterdays total of 6.5mm). Currently: Very mild indeed! Continuous light- moderate rain and drizzle. Moderate- fresh SSW wind. Temp: 11.6c. Pressure: 1010 mbar, rising slowly.
  16. Respite today! Clear spells, one or two showers overnight, then frosty. Min: +0.1c. Yesterdays rain: 5.3mm. Cloud and sunny spells today, dry! Max: 6.6c. Clear spells at first this evening with a ground frost and did dip below 2c. Currently: Mostly cloudy, 2.8c. Pressure: 1003 mbar, rising.
  17. Sunny periods midday before it clouded over again. Heavy showers 16-1800. Max: 9.0c was in the early hours. Currently: Clearing, 4.9c. Pressure: 979 mbar, rising slowly. I wonder when the last time pressure remained below 980 mbar so long in southern Britain (over 15 hours and counting)?
  18. Windy early night, then eerily calm and wet! Min: 6.1c @ 1030. Yesterdays rain (mostly between 02000-0815 today): 24.3mm. Currently: Sunny, light north wind. Temp: 6.2c Pressure: 978 mbar, rising slowly (min 977 mbar 3 hours ago).
  19. Only a few light showers today, cloudy. Max: 8.4c @ 1400. Currently Temp: 7.2c Pressure: 994 mbar, rising. Wind: Light SSW.
  20. Occasional showers so far today, nothing too heavy though. Mainly overcast. Min: 5.8c @ 0245. Yesterdays rain: 40.8mm (my wettest here). Currently: Light showers, overcast. Temp: 7.2c. Pressure: 990 mbar, rising slowly.
  21. The main rain area now just about through. 11.5mm more since 1700. Total since 0900: 36.6mm, so I need just a few overnight showers to beat the wettest day since moving back to this area in 2003 (37.7mm on March 5th 2007). :o Currently: Intermittent light rain. Temp: 6.5c. Pressure: 989 mbar, steady.
  22. My totals for 2008 Jan: 100mm barrier reached! Todays deluge has so far delivered 28mm since 1030. Also, thats almost 80mm for the past week and counting.
  23. A further 9mm in the last 2 hours. Thats 24mm since 1030, and 32mm since the event began 24 hours ago. A decent fall already, even in this relatively wet location! Current temp: 7.5c. Wind has eased somewhat though, no longer gusting to gale force.
  24. Dull, mild and windy and very wet! Min: 8c yesterday evening. 24 hour rain to 0900: 7.0mm from overnight rain at times. Max so far: 9.7c @ 0400. This afternoon, heavy rain and strong to gale force southerly. Made nonsense really of the Wales weather warning that has left out my part of the world (Ceredigion) and yet covers adjacent counties to the south, west and north: Strange Wales warning! Currently: Dull, continuous heavy rain, windy but less mild. Temp: 7.9c Pressure: 993 mbar, falling slowly. Rainfall since 0900 (past 6 hours): 16.2mm!
  25. Clear spells and a ground frost overnight. Min: 1.7c @ 0300. Yesterdays rain: trace. Hazy sun to 1300, then cloudy rather mild. Max: 8.9c @ 1400. Light rain for past hour or so. Last nights NW wind is now a moderate SSE. Currently: Light rain. Temp: 6.9c. Pressure: 1003 mbar, falling slowly.
