    Mild, wet and windy. Intermittent light rain/ drizzle since 0700, now turned heavier. Fresh to strong SW wind. Temperature risen from 7c at midnight to 9.6c currently. Pressure: 1017 mbar, falling slowly. Off to my folks in Coventry for the holiday period.     Clear to thick fog overnight and frosty. Surprisingly cold night (lower than any of the past week). Min: -3.7c. Sunny am, cloudy pm. Mild and breezy this evening. Max to 1800: 5.1c, but now up to 6.6c. Currently: Cloudy, mild and moderate south breeze. Temp: 6.6c. Pressure: 1022 mbar, falling slowly.

    No icy scene to greet us this morning- first time in a week or so! Min: -2.1c @ 8 pm yesterday. Dull and murky with the odd spot of rain/ drizzle so far today. Currently: A rather heavy burst of rain. Temp 7.6c. Pressure: 1021 mbar, steady.

    Last night had yet another frost. Min: -1.5c. Dry yesterday again. Sunny today, although actually less cold, feeling very raw in the moderate- fresh east/ NE wind. Max: 5.9c @ 1300. Most notable was the low RH today, lowest at 50% early this afternoon, hence it felt so cold. Shade frost persists! Currently: Clear and frosty. Moderate NE wind. Temp: 2.0c. Pressure: 1029 mbar, falling slowly.

At Aberystwyth it was relatively mild this afternoon, c 8-9c. Currently: clear with a layer of high cirrus, still frosty. Temp: 1.3c Pressure: 1032 mbar, steady.

    Time to take stock perhaps, after a very wet start to December, the seemingly final shower having passed this morning, and the possibility of a mainly dry spell ahead? My rainfall for 2007: Jan- 170 Feb - 158 Mar - 130 Apr - 14 May- 113 Jun - 186 Jul - 163 Aug - 85 Sept - 91 Oct - 45 Nov- 84 Dec (so far)- 119 2007 so far: 1359mm December is already close to the average. 6 consecutive days >10mm. We do get months over 250mm here though! 2007 is now firmly in the 'wet' category.

    Stuck under the Irish Sea/ Cardigan Bay stream of showers all night! Heavy rain and hail showers accompanied by strong-gale force NNW winds. Min: 3.6c @ 0700. Yesterdays rain: 20.3mm Decembers wet start: 119mm so far (respite week now?). Currently: Last shower 0830, now sunny, breezy. Temp: 5.3c Pressure: 1016 mbar, rising quickly. (+40 mbar cf 24 hours ago!).
