Hopefully some luck for Lincolnshire, been a fairly quiet Summer this year apart from a few rumbles at the beginning of Summer, evening storms at this time of year would be perfect with the nights drawing in earlier now

Is it me or are some storms looking a bit more organised? especially down South

I see its one of those pop corn kinda storm days today, wonder if more will kick off when evening draws in

Indeed, that produced the last series of decent storms we've had in this area. I got lucky twice, in Holland a month later!
I remember seeing flashes of lightning when the storm was 60 miles away, one of the best storms in our area we've had, not had many proper ones like it since

Looks like its just rain tonight for us, least I dont have to stay up till 3am and have a tiring day at work

I'm going to hazard a guess that a lot of the cloud during the day may not have helped the potential storm situation

I get the feeling ireland will have most of the activity tonight and the rest just thundery rain/heavy showers
-
Finally got some blue skies showing, been overcast all day

The UKV is really developing a real trend here of storms forming around Southern/central Britain and then moving north rapidly. Although one thing to note is that much of this will be embedded thunderstorms and the S/E flank more active in terms of lightning ️
That puts Lincolnshire in a nice spot, makes me debate if it comes off whether to stay up late and risk a tiring day at work or sleep in and wake up early hmm
It wouldn't surprise me if it mostly ends up being thundery rain with the odd rumble

So BBC hinting thundery showers for most of Sunday afternoon/evening, though suspect most will be thundery rain with the odd rumble

I suspect that's it for today apart from showers with the odd rumble, most of it seems to be in the North Sea
-
Some thunder near by from looking at the radar but looks fairly weak as it approaches
-
Didnt expect there to be so much activity so early in the day, wonder what the afternoon could bring

That's super unlucky. I come home to find out there was constant lightning and thunder at my village near Lincoln about 30 minutes after I went for work and missed it. Classic timing
6 hours ago, Thundery wintry showers said:Yes, quite a substantial thunderstorm here in west Lincoln with a bit of hail as well. Recent thunderstorms have tended to skirt around Lincoln and produce distant rumbles, but this one has come right overhead, so in many ways it's been more spectacular than the earlier ones that were more widespread.
I missed out by 30 minutes the one time it came overhead as well as like you say they usually come across a few miles around us
-
Looks like there could be a storm heading to Lincoln just as I'm about to go to work which would be unfortunate timing
-
Bit unlucky. Thunder being shown on the radar a few miles south to us

Makes me almost wonder if we'll head to a cooler climate if we'll start seeing colder winters than what we've been getting recently
