Already feels warmer than it has for ages lol temp has hit 13° and looks to continue rising through the afternoon and my overnight low here is 12° that’s sooo much better, if we can get some sunshine this evening it will be a nice warm evening

Those banging on about the gfs and it’s ensemble yet again, we have no frosts from it and temps across the south east mid to high teens possible, lots of showers amongst sunny spells, it will feel warm in any sunny spells, if your looking for days over 20° Then yeah bummer, but temps in my neck of the woods hovering around 15 to 17, around average for the time of year, oh and the gfs undercooks temps anyway, people need to back away from the constant gfs updates and start looking at a bigger picture

Finally going to loose that nip and chilly air! Warmer air incoming even if it’s unsettled I think many people will be grateful to be able to take the winter coats off at last! Next week looks showery but in the sunny spells will feel warmer than it’s felt in the last week, temps actually look average about 15 to 17 across the south east

Polar airmass is finally leaving today!!! Tomorrow forecast 18 degrees here in south Essex, rain should clear lunchtime too, so will feel muggy, and up to 21 sunday!

Looks like London and south east finally loose the really cold nights by the weekend, in fact temps could stay at 12 degrees all night Saturday into Sunday! That will feel noticeable

Also on May 24th 2013 Heathrow only recoded a high of 9.9° and that’s the end of May!!! So it could be cooler

Been fairly cool start to May but actually temps have only been slightly below average here, each day I’ve recorded 14° degrees, the average for May is 16° Here, so it’s not a complete disaster but compared to spring last year when it was 24° obviously a huge difference, however it looks like could reach 21° here on Sunday which will be a huge welcome, and I also welcome thunderstorms too, I love warm unstable weather! And even next week temps will around average too so should feel warm in sunny spells, 16 or 17 degrees, and with warm upper air won’t have that cool nip, speaking just for my location in south Essex, have no idea about up north

You are fixated by the gfs lol those temps can be inaccurate for example it only had 5 or 6 modelled Thursday but now I’m forecast 12 by both bbc and met office and both are forecasting mid to high teens for the weekend,

Based just on the GFS model, you have not factored in the ECM, GEM or any other model, other models indicate higher temps

Brilliant post always look forward to your posts! Personally people on here take each run as gospel for some reason, every run is always going to be different and it’s going to be extra hard at moment because when it comes to a change of pattern it could take days to pin down that pattern change from the cool spell to a warm spell, they will chop and change from every run

Actually turned out a beautiful day in south Essex, plenty of sunshine and not a single shower temps around 14° this afternoon and long periods of sunshine, so could be worse; I was expecting worse

That’s exactly my thinking, cold and wet ain’t my thing, warm and wet is better if it has to be wet, cos if we pick up a south westerly we increase humidity too, something we deffo not had in spring, so far anyway, apart from maybe the random 24° day lol so anything from the south west will feel warmer than anything coming from the north or north west

If it’s Atlantic sourced air from the south west probably would feel warmer cos it won’t be the cool artic air over us now so would feel more comfortable and average for us is around 16 degrees, so warm enough

It will be May 17th when the weather decides to warm up, just as everyone can meet indoors, I see that happening! Cruel really but oh well, maybe that will help to keep people outside lol

GFS 18Z is still hinting at something warmer from next weekend

Have to admit you gotta love the uk weather, you literally can never predict a season here! Although April was cold sunshine amounts well above average and rainfall well below average!!! Heathrow ended April on 13° max mean for the month! Just slightly chillier than 2013 which had a max mean of 13.3°

Some warmth appearing within models now, although that could be mean wetter, but at least the frost risk disappears in the south

Flicking through the gfs 18z and it gave me a heart attack, temps up to 27 degrees lol, took me by surprise

I would rather summer heat in June July and august, so I don’t mind a cool spring,

Quite the scatter there deffo possibility of warmer weather as well

Everyone is so dramatic on this forum it hasn’t felt particularly cold, strong sun this time of the year changes that, running similar to 2013 here so far, models seem to be chopping and changing at the moment, between some warmer members and cooler members, wouldn’t be surprised to see a big flip mid month onwards, either way, when the sun shines temps of 14 or 15 are perfect!
