They entering the (now shifted) area of high CAPE and well-mixed air - the air that WE MADE!
Ah. well its still frustrating, why does mother nature seem to think we are generous and giving them the storms, me and her will have to have a chat as i want them back lol! seriously though CAPE and other indicators look good for next week.

Typical that the storm cells seem to re-ignite or gain energy when they leave the british coast??

Guildford looks finely placed for that little channel number
It's a lot colder today though, and I imagine Cape is thin on the ground compared with yesterday. However - I do expect something more than a shower looking at the radar(s)
The cells in the channel seem to be tracking more E'WRDS than the cells north of london, that are moving NE'STLY. i just need a thunder fix!

Looks like some cells developing over the Cherbourg Peninsula now too. Hopefully some treats in store for the baked, sleep deprived south east folk.
You know that, feel like a burnt zombie this week , its just to hot to function, but it may all pay of today, we must having been saving all the CAPE for today and its going to go

An the core has 100mm plus rainfall rate indicating hail!
Amazing, i did notice that.!!

Wow , sferics really increasing on that cell in the channel.

I do have to put out that, in my eyes, any storms today will be small, dis organised, and short-lived, but this allows new cells to form quickly as the old ones decay, shouldn't moan as its still something.

Couple of cheeky cells popped up over the channel. I wonder if these will explode when they hit land?
Justin123 beat me to it!
Lol, i think you are right in saying that they will explode when the hit land, but it could go either way, so its a waiting game.

Another cell ignited in the channel tracking NE'wds.

Morning @Justin123
I certainly wouldn't rule out anything next week lets put it like that
Yesterday, I was lucky and got quite a half reasonable storm, but for many it was a huge bust which I've also experienced many times.
So I'm hoping that next week (although still a long way off) could be one of those weeks with what looks like very little potential, but could hopefully deliver a rather impressive little storm, somewhere
... Forever the optimist me ya know.Morning @Dangerous55019
Sometimes the best storms develop when there is little CAPE, as conditions can favour this, although theoretically this shouldn't be the case. Next weeks rainfall totals are showing extremely high amounts on the forecast, and it also hints towards potential storms every day!

Sadly it looks like your spiralling optimism was correct @Summerstorm
But on the upside, there are a few interesting charts for next week... Certainly not showing the insane levels of CAPE that was modelled yesterday, but as long as there is no cap in place, then that's not a problemWe could have had all the cape in the World, and still not had anything because of that Damn Cap, next week then ? fingers crossed? the Cape charts look a lot less , but as you sad no cap!

Yeah, I'm not expecting anything here now
Its ok Tom , you had it all yesterday. I've been melting in bed the last few nights hoping for a thunderstorm just to break the heat and air a bit !

If only that storm which developed overnight from the north sea traveled the other way, typical lol
That would have been jaw dropping good, but its England and the weather either loves to surprise you or keep you waiting, like me since Tuesday and watching all of this CAPE go to waste up until this morning.

It's the second of the morning to develop like that. Produced a hefty thundery shower fo us about an hour ago. Round 2 incoming!
I really think we are going to have a very active day today, and Im wishing for a nice storm with a bit of thunder and that is enough to make me happy, but of course id love 10 super cells to develop, but ill try and not be to optimistic.

Look at the salisbury area. Another cell developing there now. These showers are developing very rapidly and moving through quickly. The atmosphere does feel 'charged' (sorry, not very scientific). Don't know if we'll get any organisation later but I don't think we're finished yet
The cell in the Salisbury area took under 10/15 minutes to appear and its already producing sferics. Im getting excited now !!!

Not much happening from the shower over Aylesbury at the moment, a very very distant rumble that's about all. A few drops of rain despite the radar looking promising. It's a waiting game lol
The radar is looking quite promising, the cells are beginning to link with precipitation and looks as if they will be some luck in the next hour or so for me in ESSEX.

I am quite disappointed at the scale of these cells, with all the Potential and CAPE, along with other factors, they seem to be very weak and look as if they could fall apart in the click of a finger. in the next few hours surface heating could develop some more intense rainfall and storms. Precipitation is now forming further south, so anyone from Bournemouth, NE toward Clacton and Norwich will have to wait for these storms to develop but i can see some development on the radar so fingers crosses !!!

Hmm, if something's kicking off already then tonight could be interesting. Not for me, but certainly over quite a large area from the Midlands northwards I think
Yes you are right, i am over in Harlow and we are not forecast anything, but at least there is something to look at on the radar, unlike the last few dissatisfying days. Anything could happen though and we may be lucky to see something JC.

Sferics are not only present in northern england but also another cell at over te Isle of man now. Looking good for later!?
-
The cloud is looking to slowly move off to the eastern coast, aplowing western, south - westerm and maybe central england to become hot and sunny by around 11am. The surface heating during the day may ignite some beastly looking Thuderstorms. I thinl the whole eastern UK is out of the equation completely as there it alot of cloud cover although, this hints towards instability, which was proven this morning by the small short lived cell that managed ignite.
It is more instable than past days by far, but is the cap finally going to break today. We will have to wait and see.

At the moment im in Harlow, essex, but at 12 off to basildon. Off to the east now there are many cumulus bubbling up, it looks as if they could develop into MCS as they are building along a line NE-SW, cant wait for some action!

Ive been hoping and praying since tuesday, and today ive come so close bath i am a little to West in Essex and have had nothing, apart from a few CB AND CU. but its still very early and i think that we may have some massive storms this summer as we have already broke the books with 34c in june, the earliest highest temperature since 1977.
