  1. Watched the storms drift away over Epsom. Not much for Reigate other than a good soaking. Fun to listen to the continuous thunder though. I think that's it so I'm signing out. Have fun all!
  2. Oh...wait. Looking at the radar it does look like another low is forming to the east. Amiens for the south, Lille for the east, and the Thames Estuary for the north. Met Office may have it right after all.
  3. Looks like the whole Surrey system is drifting west along with the unstable weather. Unless something comes out of France, I fear this will be it after it has gone. The MO had the low centre further south, and another developing in Kent but I think that's not turned out.
  4. So action in Epsom. eh? Very little in Reigate down the road. The odd flash and rumble and buckets of much-needed rain. We must be re-establishing the Reigate Local High Pressure Zone.
  5. There's not really a lot in these storms. All elevated lightning and pretty much invisible.
  6. It 'looks' spectacular on the rain radar but to be honest there's grey cloud and heavy rain here in Reigate. No thunder and no sign of any lightning at all. All the thunder I have heard so far has been elevated. I don't think anything has gone groundward. Finishes typing...crash of thunder. Typical!
  7. Throwing it down in Reigate (at last!) But no lightning nor thunder. No sign of any hail core - waiting for one to finish off what the daughter started on our greenhouse yesterday.
  8. Literally 10 minutes! The storm heading for Redhill (second round) is electrifying right now. Head a couple of faint rumbles from it.
  9. Thanks! Looks like we're done now for that line of showers. Sun is coming back out. We'll have to see if anything else fires up south of Reigate. Still zero rain here.
  10. Love that clip of Redhill, thank you! Literally a mile away in Reigate and it is cloudy, hot and dry with rumbles of thunder everywhere.
  11. The Redhill storm continues to rumble incessantly, but the lightning must be elevated. It's all upstairs at the moment. However, I decided watching from our metal pergola frame might be inadvisable... Hmm - it's moving away north now.
  12. Non-stop thunder from the storm over Redhill, and building out everywhere! Woo! Just watched an Army Chinook flying very close to events. Good luck, lads. No lightning visible, but the thunder is from the east and high up above us.
  13. I just heard some thunder. This Horley storm is moving slower than a glacier! Loads of built up cloud everywhere around Reigate now, except right here of course. Oh! Cell popped up at Redhill just down the road. That was quick. It is interesting to note how all development studiously avoids Reigate.
  14. Still waiting..... (Note to self - animated Gifs don't work).
  15. I know the feeling only too well. The storm I am watching is starting to hang a left so it misses me. Reigate Local High Pressure dome in full swing already.
  16. Cell going up and firing near Forest Row. Think that's got my name on it! AT LAST, after months of nothing...!
  17. I remember him filming Heathrow all day in a belter of a winter gale! Dedicated, almost insane. Amazing guy.
  18. Showers coming ashore from France are rapidly being reinvigorated! Notice a strike on the chart already.
  19. Morning! Well, we got a little rain last night here in the Reigate Local High Pressure Zone. Pleased to see Estofex and Nick Finnis' take on today. Perhaps (at long last) it will be our turn! I would be worried about large hail and our greenhouse; except our adult daughter accidentally ripped the door off it and smashed it (enthusiastic tomato plant watering). So if the rest gets smashed it will sum up this week. Kitten also running around at 100mph.
  20. Can you please have a word with the Bexhill Sailing Club? This is what their webcam shows. What use is that to anyone? It's the most useless webcam on the planet.
  21. You'll be familiar with the Reigate Local High Pressure system, then? 24/7, 365 days a year.
