  1. I cannot get a picture off that site. Never have been able to. The cam screen remains blank, and no clue as to why.
  2. Very nice. Do you get the locals popping around to give you 'bovver'? It can be a bit dodgy around parts of Caterham... Nice and close to a tree, too, for added action.
  3. Here's one from Ouistreham on the coast immediately north of Caen. Right in the path of the current storm: https://www.caenlamer-tourisme.fr/en/discover/enjoy-the-sea-air-on-the-cote-de-nacre/webcam/ Due south is down the path with the flags, where the storm is approaching. (No sign of it just yet...)
  4. That line goes right through our house. (Wondered what the black streak in the sky above was). Looking good - let's hope your prediction works and we don't get a mid-channel right turn into a Kent Clipper. Again.
  5. Sferics have risen quite significantly south of Caen in France. I'm hopeful in The Hatch. Meanwhile, Stormhog, what happened to you? I know KFC food can be a bit tough but....
  6. Thanks for the cam links! It's all about the hatch about the hatch, no purple...it's all about the hatch all about the hatch, no purple... (to quote a certain song). As one can notice, I feel a bit upbeat about standing in the face of inclement weather, camera in one hand, glass of cider in the other...waiting... Hi to other Hatchers!
  7. In Reigate we are right in the middle of Barry's Hatch area. I would rub my hands in glee except a healthy dose of cynicism that has seen many apocryphal forecasts turn to dust before my eyes. I've charged up my camera batteries (I just have to remember how to use the damn thing). Here's hoping for a lightshow (and also hoping the church lightning conductor close by is polished and ready...it's our safety cover!) Thanks for the charts and forecasts. Let's see what turns up.
  8. It's remarkably...unremarkable out there. Although there is an interesting developing line north of Angers...
  9. Ian Hislop? That's a bit...out of context! Thanks for the charts.
  10. In the tradition of naming storms (one the Met Office is keen on), since this is a system moving out of France, full of hot air and moisture... Should we call it "Storm Macron?" In honour of our neighbour's President?
  11. I know it is early yet, but I don't suppose the charts show the usual ridge of intense high pressure residing around Reigate during unstable weather? It's quite small, about 3 miles across. Curious to know what next week will bring....
  12. We appear to have a drying trend from the west, moving in. I guess it's a cap of high pressure from the south-west drying up the incoming cold front. I can see rainfall evaporating from south west to north east. This is a bust for me. I cannot in any way see any new activity pepping up west of the current activity in the east, and the progress of the weather systems eastwards will push the stormy weather out into the north sea. It's been fun, and I'm pleased some folks got a good night out of it. As for the Met Office Yellow Stuff - 7/10. They didn't do too badly this time. For me, off to bed now. G'night!
  13. Is that a trough forming in the Channel, to the south of Brighton? Running south west to north east? Oops - same moment of posting, Dean.
  14. Oh well. Guys and girls in the east - enjoy! So far as I'm concerned in Reigate, it's a bust. All radar shows is for this area and to the west, we're in more stable air. East of us - well, you got the good stuff. Sad - I've missed so much good storm weather. Still, got to see some good lightning on that Brighton cam.
  15. I wonder if the approaching trough from the west (UK) might pep things up later? Either through compression, or just plain under-cutting the current instability? (Ahhh - nothing like hope).
  16. Looking at French Rain Radar, there's stuff out in Biscay that could well reach a wider spread of southern UK later on. But...what sort of state it will be in, is anyone's guess. So far as I can see anything to the west of the main Caen splurge of storms seems to have a lot less instability. So I guess it looks more like rain.
  17. Eastbourne webcam coming up good, now: http://www.itsfine.org/weather/wx_webcam_quick.php
  18. There's nothing on the main radars. Maybe the lightning detector's shifted stuff, or it's the wrong chart? Anyhow, this chart doesn't reflect reality, Peter.
  19. My greenhouse tarpaulin is now looking rather...embarrassing. Perhaps I should have fitted lightning rods to each corner.
  20. I just can't get that Bognor one to work on my PC. B*gg*r Bognor! Thank you for the list!
  21. Thanks for that link! Reigate storm kind of deflated and gave up the ghost. Typical - just as it approached me. North of here it will suddenly revitalise itself.
  22. Horsham....is that a hook developing at the southern edge of the (rather sluggish) storm?? Nope.
