  1. It was just too marginal for low levels and that's that. For snow to really last you need about -1c, we had 0.5c.
  2. Police stopping people from going up my road because of snow. It's raining here lol.
  3. Just saying that Sperrin and Biglad don't represent the west, they're at high elevation. Heavy rain and 2c now.
  4. Actually Neiller, it was just the hills thatgot hammered. I had sleet and wet snow all night. It's not fair to say that we got loads of snow.
  5. Omg Nieller please don't. It's just not going to happen!!
  6. Rocheydub, the parameters are perfect for snow tonight, hence the big covering on higher ground. Obviously the atmosphere is so saturated that any snow even slightly above freezing is getting washed out by the humidity. I don't know if that is a symptom of the low or what, but it is definitely impacting us. So, for us to get anything we're going to need really heavy shower to bring the temp below freezing. Very disappointing, as this would've given us a few inches if it were only one degree colder.
  7. Dew Point is -0c. Think wet bulb is the issue. But amazed that snow can melt into rain through an 80 metre layer!
  8. Um, yes. But I can't see it raining at 0.5, anywhere else to be honest. I mean that's half a degree from freezing. The freezing level should theoretically be no higher than 80 metres above me, so that shouldn't theoretically be enough time for the snow flakes to melt.
  9. View out my fromt yard. Temperature is 0.5c and it is raining. Don't understand how this can happen?
  10. To me it is just sleet. But it's very close as it is 0.6c here. if it were to drop to 0c, i'm sure it would snow properly and lie.
  11. Yup, sleeting at 0.6c. Has anyone seen a more rediculous climate than ours?
  12. Is it? I'm not getting up to look out, fed up now.
  13. Been trying to get my father to go out, but we have an automatic car, so not good in the snow lol.
  14. It's still depressing when you thought you were sure to get some. We got as low as 0.5c and still nothing. Makes you wonder what weather conditions you need for sea level snow these days.
  15. Rocheydub, this is 2 miles from me! This was today before the rain came here. I would say the snowline is not more than 50 metres higher.
  16. You have no idea, though! I live so close to high elevation it's unreal!
  17. Naw, 300 metres is only a mile away. So you can imagine how I'll feel in the morning, when I look out the window and see white fields only 1/4 mile away.
  18. This is seriously so depressing. I was SO close to getting a good amount of snow.
  19. Not even doing anything now. This has been too light.
  20. Fancy sharing it with the rest of us, at low levels?
  21. Naw, i've just jinxed the snow. Think I might just go to bed, if I can't get it now at 0.6c i'm never going to get it. Let's face it.
