  1. To me, the snowline looks to be about 150m. Can't see land above that height.
  2. Barra downgrades snow, I wouldn't listen to him.
  3. Well, if Essex and Hertfordshire can get a foot of snow out of a similar event, we can get something out of this!!
  4. Well, I remain positive. The temperature is dropping here, so it's going in the right direction at least.
  5. I don't know Neiller. The temperature here has fallen to 1.8c in 20 minutes, so it shouldn't take much to turn to snow.
  6. My weather station says 2.3c, so I guess a car is more accurate, than my nearest Weather Underground station. Surprised there is a 0.7c difference in 2 miles!
  7. The heaviest precipitation isn't to reach here until 10.
  8. Icy rain here. Nearest W underground says 3c but car says 2c. Not sure how accurate the car is?
  9. It's 3c so it needs to drop 2 degrees, Briefman.
  10. I don't think the proper heavy precipitation has reached us yet looking at the radar.
  11. Yes snow for us from 8pm. We look to be lucky enough to stay as all snow. Seems particularly heavy at 10pm to midnight. https://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/wrfnmm.php?ech=3&mode=1&map=330
  12. You have 3 inches and you are unhappy? Are you foreal?
  13. Snow is readily lying above 200 metres. A good 4 inches up there.
  14. This is a frontal weather system where the precipitation will be heavy and stationary for several hours allowing evaporative cooling to take hold, so it's a little different.
  15. STATUS ORANGESnow-ice Warning for Cavan, Monaghan and DonegalAn Atlantic depression will cross Ireland this evening and early tonight bringing a spell of snow on its northern flank. This will be followed by scattered snow showers later in the night and Thursday. At present, the main risk of appreciable accumulations is limited to Ulster.Issued:Wednesday 17 January 2018 10:00Valid:Wednesday 17 January 2018 18:00 to Thursday 18 January 2018 12:00
  16. The 06Z is still showing snow for those of us North of Belfast/Tyrone. http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertcharts?LANG=en&MENU=0000000000&CONT=ukuk&MODELL=euro4&MODELLTYP=1&BASE=-&VAR=prty&HH=18&ARCHIV=0&ZOOM=0&PERIOD=&WMO=
  17. What does the WRF show? Yes, Gary, the snow on my deck is actually frozen which is surprising.
  18. Well, i'll just reserve judgement until it has past, because it could end up being further south, than predicted!
  19. I'm going to trust the EURO4 more since it picked up the Warm Sector, and the GFS did not. I reckon we will know by 6Z EURO4.
