The Government cant come out and say it's so bad etc as people will panic and that can crash the economy, the usual scum will start riots, it would be utter chaos, but I'm pretty sure this is as bad as it gets in terms of this virus. The CDC have even stopped publishing infection confirmations and testing confirmations, I'm pretty sure the reason is to prevent panic. Lots of videos on twitter from inside Iran, its just awful, bodies everywhere. Its grim. Very grim.

I'm all for it to contain this outbreak. Far too many people are walking around saying, "it's just the flu"... it really isnt. Serious and strong measures are needed to bring it under control. Its apparent that Cov is or has been spreading for weeks before you even hear about it. Its damn scary when you have elderly people and children in your family.

No Sorry, does not work like that. Imagine the scenario: You phone 111 because you have been in contact with someone you think or know has the Coronavirus. 111 will tell you to self isolate. You phone work and say you don't think you are sick but you have no choice but to comply with Government Statutory Law and self isolate for 14 days. You will be tested by the NHS, it comes back negative, you are not sick and are free to return to work. The employer has to pay you in full. I can't put it any more plainly.

It's not what employers should get, it's statutory law if in fact you wasn't sick. Read my previous posts. I'd take them to court in an instant if it turned out I wasn't sick and didn't have the Coronavirus and win.

Hi Swebby, I doubt you will find anything of the sort as it's not something that employers or the government will want to advertise, we have just been told this during a Government course. As I said earlier, lots of changes to contracts and employment come April too.

But you are reading it wrong. Headline: Will I try paid if I take sick leave? This isnt sick leave. You're not even sick. The Goverment has told you to self quarantine because you think you might have the virus. When you are tested, you didnt have it, your not sick at all, you just complied with the law. Not sure how else to spell it out?

You didnt have the Coronavirus, you wasnt sick, but you followed the statutory Government guidelines to self isolate for 14 days complying with law. There is no sick pay to consider and employers pay you in full for the absence or they are in breach should you take then to court.
