  1. Met eireann advisory for tomorrow night. Accumulations likely for West Ulster and North Connacht.
  2. Freezing hard and a good covering of snow. Any more that falls will stick easy unlike last night.
  3. This Evening and Tonight: Clear periods and frequent sleet and snow showers with further accumulations especially on higher ground. Strong westerly winds taking showers across most areas. Widespread frost and risk of ice. Minimum temperature -2 °C. Monday: Bright spells with wintry showers gradually dying out. Winds becoming southerly and increasing strong during evening then some heavy rain and hill snow arriving overnight, with gales along east coast. Maximum temperature 4 °C. Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Any rain or snow clearing early Tuesday then sunshine and isolated wintry showers. Milder on Wednesday with some rain. Then colder on Thursday but bright with showers, some wintry. Updated: 14:53 on Sun 11
  4. Snow melted on paths but still about an inch remains on all the grass/roofs etc everywhere. More than I thought would be left a couple of hours ago.
  5. Ground was wet and its not overly cold. If it's cold enough it'll stick but I get what you're saying. An proper easterly or proper Northerly needed for it lay proper for days.
  6. Was doing that even before the sun came up here. Melting on the paths. Never froze properly here and everywhere soaking from yesterday doesn't help. Everywhere is completely white at the minute tho but sun is out now. Tuesday snow was better here, everywhere was frozen.
  7. Big downgrade for tonight Showers of hail and snow are expected through Monday morning. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent across western and northern Scotland where 2-5 cm of snow is likely to accumulate relatively widely, with some areas, particularly above 150 m, possibly seeing 6-10 cm of snow. Elsewhere snow at low levels will be more temporary, with accumulations of 2 to 5 cm likely above 150 m. Strong winds will lead to drifting of snow, with temporary blizzard conditions over higher routes. The showers will gradually become less frequent and heavy from the south through Monday morning. Yesterday we we're forecast to get what the forecast states for Scotland.
  8. You know its bad when the excuses begin. Perhaps all the background connections are just fantasy.
  9. Didn't mean to hit quote can't delete. I hope they don't change their warning from midnight of 1 to 2 inches for low levels and possibly 4 especially above 150
  10. Hate checking charts on phone. Is it all easterly? Or Northerly?
  11. Sunday warning updated for all day now. Not great compared with Monday. Bit confused by it tbh Chief Forecaster's assessment A very cold westerly airstream will bring frequent snow showers to many western and central areas on Sunday. 2-5 cm of snow may accumulate above 150 m with some snow to low levels too, particularly across Northern Ireland and Scotland. 10 cm or more is possible above 300 m in western Scotland, with drifting in the strong westerly winds.
  12. Rain warning for today mentions the possibility of 5cm of above 250m and 1 to 2cm of snow is possible to low levels as the rain clears especially in the East. Also really strange their snow warning for tomorrow hasn't been updated yet. Amber perhaps...
  13. Met office snow warning 0005 Monday to 1500 Monday Chief Forecaster's assessment Frequent showers of hail and snow are expected through Monday morning and the first half of Monday afternoon. Showers will be heavy, with lightning an additional hazard. 2-5 cm of snow is likely to accumulate relatively widely, with some areas, particularly above 150 m, possibly seeing 6-10 cm of snow. Strong winds will lead to drifting of snow, with temporary blizzard conditions over higher routes. The showers will gradually become less frequent and heavy through the day.
  14. ECM has also dropped the Easterly this morning. Model thread will be interesting.
  15. And the forecast text for NI on the BBC website is more encouraging for snow than the Met office text to add further confusion. Euro4 looking very bullish. Best of Winter so far I believe. Significant accumulations. Slight chance of a warning for this evening too with rain clearing turning wintry in places. IMO snow warning will be upgraded today for tomorrow. Possibly Amber/Orange from both Mets.
  16. Oh Deary me. ECM has gone pear shaped if it's a winter wonderland you're after.
  17. 2.5cm of snow outside. Missed most of showers last night but obviously not complaining.
  18. Automated forecasts don't like as cold as they did yesterday from Monday onwards. Still Sunday looking good.
