I'd assume Mon/Tue is very much dependent on height.. Low levels probably won't get much, but will still see falling snow which is better than nothing!

Should definitely see some snow on Tuesday. Just not sure about its capability to lay at low levels, but very nice to see especially with how dire the Winter has been so far. MetO update is good but I am too new to this business to decode it properly lol. The latter half of next week looks to stay cold or very cold, with frosts likely most nights. There may be cloud, rain and hill snow perhaps on Wednesday or Thursday, but thereafter turning brighter with showers. These will feed in from eastern coasts, but are likely to bring sleet or snow for some. There is a small chance of a weather system approaching the northwest over the weekend, which could bring significant amounts of snow on meeting the cold air. However, this is still very uncertain and it is best to stay up to date with the latest forecast. It will stay cold until the end of January with spells of rain, sleet and snow at times. However, some drier and brighter interludes are still likely, with overnight frost.

The 18z makes a move for a Greenie High but doesn't quite make it there in FI. Time will tell and pretty soon!

The ECM must have had a wobbly moment. The 18z seems an upgrade for Easterly areas.

18z seems to have a tad colder uppers for the PM blast, which makes all the difference. Consistent!

If we are uncertain about Mon/Tue why get hung about what happens after

Watching the Derry automated forecast each day I see the temperatures dropping all the time. Two days ago it was slating Tuesday for 6C, now its around 4C. I don't think I will see snow on Mon/Tue but with my inexperience I am very confident midland/upland areas are going to get some good amounts of snow!

Oh whoop dee doo daa The MAD thread is back on the happy pills again now that their beloved Easterly has shown its face once more lol . Looks like its only snowy at the end for us but I'm too inexperienced to know if that front from the west would give us snow here IMBY-wise. No greeny heights on this run.

Moving aside from the heated discussion. This time around unlike last month or the month before, we have a lot to actually look forward to this and next week. Monday/Tuesday more of a hill snow kind of affair but whats after will definitely be interesting. Things are coming steadily into the reliable time frame now.

The GFS P is beautiful and after all thats t he model which is going to take over the GFS soon enough (after the orange headed buffoon gives up with the us govt. shutdown) and its within ten days too! Look at it. Fabulous.
