  1. Moving up from the south then a bit NW over your region. You might get some light or moderate snow, depending where you are/will be, exactly.
  2. Amended forecast for this p.m. heavy snow well west of worthing, light and maybe a bit moderate east of the heavy stuff, as far east as brighton at least [and inland of these places, of course]
  3. And that's what's the beeb forecast said, in effect, just now - not much snow in our region until tomo. [But let's see] say I].
  4. Mmmm netweather radar shows a sudden band of light snow at about brighton and to the west of it for a long way. Seems to be bang on - light snow/some flakes here now [10 miles south of Horsham].
  5. No, i just look at radar and try to work things out after years of DIY forecasting and observation. I also have a look at meto office forecasts, and one or two others, and posts on here - and synoptic charts.
  6. lol and i don't use "any" apps for anything - apart from whatsapp. But i'm on a computer all day and beyond, and when i go out i tend to ignore my phone, to get away from tech.
  7. Absolutely. And there's free dead wood in the woods if required. BUT we have been cut off by both snow and floods in the past eight years, and gritters don't touch country lanes.
  8. There is a warning of ... mains gas supplies not being sufficient nationwide in the next 2-3 days. Get yer stocks of wood/coal/blow heaters in. We're in the sticks so are on oil, and i bought a load of wood and smokeless fuel last weekend. No mains gas here. If all electricity power goes we have a fireplace and a multifuel stove ... and an oven hob that runs directly off gas from gas cylinders outside. The broadband routers won't work, though, and even the 3G signal here is total crap. Maybe smoke signals will...
  9. I'm gobsmacked because where we are is only a few miles north of you and we had a snow fest for a while after about 6 am today. The rara showed it should have hit you as well.
  10. A snowfest here, a few miles west north west of you. Quite a heavy fall going on. Hove should be being hit.
  11. Most people have their locations showing on the left of the screen. Maybe you can't see that on phones.
  12. I'm about 12 miles west north west of brighton. A decent fall on the go now, with snow settling nicely.
  13. Talking of snow in the merry month of March - a polar low swept south over the UK on the 4th, dumping several inches. In March 1964 or '65, a bit later in the month, a trough centred over Lincolnshire moved south and dumped a load on Peterborough.
  14. The 2nd band has moved inland and light snow has started in Steyning. Should get a bit heavier. It will reach Farnham in due course.
