  1. More from the Jersey tornado. 0734c432-0e2a-4e0e-b7cd-6b3d23c2a3f2.mp4
  2. There’s a good few but if it’s like Guernsey roofers most will be already booked up prior to to this.
  3. Pressure down to 968mb off my car. Winds are a sustained SE f9/10 50 mph here in Guernsey. It’s rocking.
  4. That’s my middle name. Off to our east coast soon as high tide at 8.30. home for a nap before pulling an all nighter out in it. Not missing this one for anything.
  5. Rain has hit us in Guernsey. Already hammering it down. Winds have instantly picked up and gusting.
  6. I can confirm supermarkets in both islands have empty shelves….. all because condor have said possibly no boats for a week. Yet it’s fresh stock they’re buying up such as milk which is readily available the next day as produced locally .
  7. what on earth have you posted there!. Lifetime timetable shortened version
  8. We’ve gone into full shutdown mode over here. All gov facilities closed all day Thursday. Still a few idiots on local fb pages saying it’ll be just a breeze. Morons.
  9. Ahh see we deal in metres. Ranging from 6.3 neap up to 10.2 for a max spring tide and we’re due an 8.6 which would be adjusted I reckon to a 9. We’d get some wash but nothing too bad. Always feel the authorities here are too cautious and slow. Especially now this is on the cards.
  10. Well we don’t have a met here, just observers, so our info is from your Met. I suspect they’ll do it Tuesday eve. They’re not one for going early. Tides aren’t too bad. No springs so that’ll help. But we’re exposed so I fear a hell of a battering for a good 24 hours. No doubt you’ll record a 1mph quicker wind speed than us
  11. I’ll let you know how things go. That’s if I’m not blown into France. Proper exposed to this. Gonna be brutal.
  12. Anybody make anything of this little channel low for midnight tomorrow. Showed up on the 12z and now the pub run. Gales for the Channel Islands ?? Moves towards se England for mid morning
  13. Sooner people realise that northerlies do nothing for 90% of the country the better. Waste of time. Give me a Scandi high all day long.
  14. Horrible bust for us in the channel islands. Northerly’s are just crap. Give me a Scandi high any day of the week.
  15. Was an odd event for us really. Northern half of the island which is sea level had about 3-6 cm. The southern half which reaches 102m asl had 25/30cm and drifts in some places 18ft high! only talking 4 miles difference too.
  16. Yeah was pretty poop over here too. Nothing to write home about.
  17. When this happened on the 10th of March, in Guernsey of all places, back in 2013. There were drifts of 6ft and stuck around for 4/5 days. Anything can happen
