    I honestly don’t know why people get so worked up on charts that are 7/8 days out. You’ve only got to look back a couple of weeks to storm Barra. That was forecast 7 days earlier by the gfs to arrive and go in 12 hours with a dive into Germany. It hung around for 3 days over Ireland and Wales then filled ! Gfs gave it the typical zonal smash through but it failed miserably as the high over scandi killed its path. Relax people. It’ll be fine.

    Give me a Scandi high with low pressure in the Med any day of the week over this Greeny high/slider malarkey. Snow showers on the east coast followed by a system pushing in from the south east a la feb 91. That was just perfect.

    When you’re on holiday and someone says ‘if it’s good weather bring it back with you!!’ Well currently I’m in Lapland for a few more days. It’s tropical for here at -5 and I’m surround by only 30cm of snow but I’m sure we’d all take that in a couple of weeks !!! I’ll do my level best to bring it back. 2 hours ahead so I’ll miss the pub run. Hoping it lives up to expectations.

    Well that’s a downgrade to wake up to ! Guess I’ll have to wait 2 weeks to see snow in my trip to Lapland!

    Out the wind it’s lovely here on Guernsey. Out In the force 6 NE it’s Baltic!! English Channel loves to funnel the winds through here. The isobars may look well spaced but every time there’s an easterly here it’s nearly a gale

    Genuinely flabbergasted at these charts. Fantastic output tonight. Not sure I’ve seen -12 uppers over the Channel Islands before. Keep getting punched by the wife every time I’ve said ‘yesssss!!!’

    Desperate for that low to sink further south for us in the Channel Islands. Even a 70 mile correction would do. I know we nicked all your snow back in 2013 but please don’t be cruel to us ! Looking marginal atm. We don’t need anymore rain, we’re submerged as it is.

    Fantastic stuff in northern Guernsey. Up to 20cm in places. The south of the island barely got touched
