Right, amber warning bingo? I reckon east anglia, Essex and Kent for sure today. Less sure about London at this point but fingers crossed
This Amber warning will most probably be extended further inland on Sunday

Croydon Council have been updated with very interesting snow amounts too.
Snow will continue through much of Sunday and some locations will get 15 cm (5.9 inches). Snow showers during Monday & Tuesday with a further 4 cm (1.6 inches) in places. Temps will struggle to rise above freezing during the day.
Gritters/gritting teams are all primed and ready to go from Saturday evening.
Please bear in mind that Croydon Council are expecting the rain to quickly turn to snow during Saturday night.

Hello yamkin.. over the years you have shared snippets on the rare occasions contingency planners have been not8fed off weather events..
any such notifications to date?
Hi there TSNWK, Croydon Council have been keeping a very close eye on the oncoming snowy events primed for Sunday & onwards. Gritting/gritters teams ready and ready for Saturday. Bear in mind gritters will be placed around strategic locations before the snow commences Saturday night. It's going to be a tough weekend into next week

I have been following the CFS model very closely for a few months and must say it has been very good at times. Take a look at the low feature out in the west that could bring a lot more snow to S & SE parts late Wednesday/Thursday. Not saying this will happen, but worth keeping an eye on
Now, going further afield into no mans land, a Scandi High forms allowing easterly winds to flow Again, not saying this will happen, but something to keep an eye on

Only if the low to the west move SE lol.
The latest MetO YouTube video mentioned this low and will be keeping an eye on this as this could nudge up into Southern areas and give a lot of snow

Unfortunately the trend isn't our friend for us down here in the SE & EA once again. Everything is just too far north for us to benefit, we need to see a 100-200 mile shift south over the next few runs to bring us back into the game.
I can't believe we might miss out once again while the north gets buried. Typical of our luck this winter!
I think the models will firm up on Wed/Thur

GFS 18Z is following it's pub run namesake and going for a slight downgrade on the snow potential, but there is nothing to worry about just yet as this sort of model output is expected.
Tomorrow's ECM & UKMO will be interesting.
Wed/Thurs will be the start of the three main models firming up the synoptics for this weekend's potential BFTE set up.

Expect a major upgrade in BBC forecasts now the ECM is coming out with this. I think the “Weather for the week ahead” is recorded already now but if the ECM does continue with this it would be a major backtrack for the BBC
Let's hope the BBC forecasters don't go and use an outdated model output

MetO is going for Easterly Winds by this weekend which is very encouraging indeed
