I must say that the radar looks good in the north sea at the moment........and if you have not already got the NW Extra radar then i suggest you do as it is excellent I subscribed for the first time the other day when I saw what the future has in mind for us (I HOPE)

This could quite easily be a cold outlier however on the 00z there were some members going for this sort of cold, we are now 6 hours closer to the event.....maybe it is coming round to the cold idea more.........

Well we have had some light rain, sleet and snow this morning 10 miles south of Norwich, obviously wont amount to anything but just shows that is marginal if we get anything later tonight tomorrow from the SW. The thaw continues but I have to say that is the slowest thaw I can remember so just shows wha a cold snap this is. Hoping for some good news for the rest of winter. Still very early days and absolutly anything can happen in Jan, Feb & March.....exciting times still. I hope we can get the dumping we deserve at some point.

Ok, no one will probably read this but i will say it anyway. I have been a member on this site for a few years and I only post in Winter as that is my weather preference. I only post on threads that i can post on like the chat threads that have been set up for the different regions. I never post on the technical threads as although i understand what is being talked about I do not undersatnd how the experts forcast what is going to happen as it is far too complex for me and tbh I just like reading what they have to say. Before this cold snap happened it was excellent, i could read through expert opinions of what was going to happen and it was all very interesting/exciting. At the moment....and this is my moan.....the general model discussion thread has been ruined by people who dont know enough about how things are going to pan out. I think this has stopped some of the more knowledgable members posting there. Maybe im wrong but now i read the thread and I have to pile through loads of crap before finding something that I actually want to read. I know this is an open forum but I feel that the threads that actually give value are being ruined and I wish people would just stick to threads that is at there level and leave the experts get on with what they do best. I know this will not be seen by any of the experts in here but tbh i cant wait for this cold spell to go away so I can get excited when all these random posters have gone away and I can look forward to the next cold spell that no one knows about! Because of these random posters i really do not have a clue about what is going to happen over the next week or even the next couple of days, maybe i should find a less popular site which is filled with quality and not quantity!

Thats just typical....hopefully the rest of winter will be good for us.

On and off showers of snow in Norwich........but all previous laying snow is starting to melt!

Can anyone explain why it has been snowing here for an hour but there is nothing on the radar.....not complaining btw!

I think this will only hit us if the showers beef up a bit or they will just fizzle out before they get here. Even if they do get here i think it is still likely to miss Norwich. Any way we will see in a few hours, I will keep my fingers crossed. BTW it has been snowing very lightly in norwich for quite a while, maybe an hour or so. Before that we had what i can only describe as ice rain/snow

I dont think we will here, no orange/red warnings on Met Centre site. If we were I would have thought they would have picked up on it!

I have looked through all the posts on this thread and am confused to how much snow we should expect in Norwich tonight/tomorrow. Can anyone give me some insight to what i should expect and how confident they are of it happening?

Anyone know why Norwich keep missing these heavy showers.....its so frustrating!

Sunshine and snow showers is perfectly acceptable.......the thing is I want Obscene prolonged showers. I dont think we will get anything near obscene in the next couple of days

It has been mentioned a few times about the build up of showers off the coast of Scotland(North Sea) which are heading south. Does anyone know if these will continue to head south and thus hitting Norfolk or will they start heading East in land soon. My thinking was that they wont get to norfolk and are more likely to hit the North East. Any thoughts?

Someone I know just told me that there company have received a warning for heavy snow again in Norwich at about 4pm and that they should leave early......oh yes!

Quite happy now this morning, woke up to at least 3 inches of powdery snow, also cant beleive work just got cancelled as we have no water as all the pipes have frozen Just build a snowman in my works carpark as well!
