  1. http://www.hial.co.uk/inverness-flights.html This is the link for live departures and arrivals at Inverness Airport. Nothing moving at the moment.
  2. Morning folks.......... Temps -1C and all change to a very light easterly instead of the westerly we had yesterday. Another 3inches of snow last night and snowing lightly again now.
  3. Inverness city temps at 1C and up here at Milton of Leys down to -0.5C. Looking at the radar there appears to be more showers coming this way. Also noticed the back edge on the west coast is flashing up green(sleet). The middle of the coming week certainly looks a lot colder and drier,
  4. Great idea.........there appears to be a few of us from around the area.
  5. I can guarantee its much more fun being young at heart. Enjoy! I love the snow as much today as I did as a youngster..........it meant lots of fun and laughter (as well as cold fingers and toes which were all part of the memories). Doubt that our children and grand children will see as many proper snowy winters as we did.
  6. That is a thought no sign of let up on the radar just yet!! I have a kids disco in Inverness this evening...........just wondering if I will get home if the snow continues. Certainly wont tackle Drumossie Brae!.........LOL
  7. Temp at -2C still snowing after almost three hours. Difficult to work out how much longer it will continue. Perhaps ease off in an hour or so.
  8. I dont know about the Beast from the East.........but this could the Beast from the North :shok:!!!
  9. Morning Pete and NN. Yes i look straight over to Ben Wyvis and its an amazing sight. We could be in for a longer spell of snow now. Gritter has just been on the main road but side roads left untouched.........ouch could be difficult to get out later!
  10. temps have dropped now -4C. The sky has a real pinky orange glow and as Mr Tattum says there is a dark mass on the radar on its way towards us!!!
  11. Good snow covering and freezing now...temps dropped to -1.5C
  12. Your odds look better during this coming night with an increased risk of snow.<_<
  13. We had a further dusting during the night...........but nothing since. Judging from the radar, I would think the snow will arrive by 9.30am. There was a red glow in the sky a few minutes ago...........shepherds warning!
  14. "My mother just reminded me of the time my father threw bits of newspaper out the upstairs window...You have to be a real snowfreak to fall for that one! " And are you still a snowfreak?
  15. We in the north tend get ignored by the national forecasts on tv. A quick brush over us and cover the more built up areas of Scotland and southwards, assuming that there are very few people north of Glasgow who would be affected. Many also think we are used to heavy snow - not the case these days sadly. Haven't times moved on and the term "even larger teapot" comes to mind? But, this year could be different! Here is hoping.
  16. -3C and no further snow since yesterday morning.......so just a slight patchy dusting. We will have to wait until the Northerly sets in and maybe we will have a chance of real snow.
  17. Dry and cold here south of Inverness. Current temp -3C:cold:
  18. http://www.trafficscotland.org/lev/index.aspx for webcams on the roads
  19. White dusting here now and the radar looks promising with lots more showers heading our way!
  20. 1C up south of Inverness albeit on higher ground. Expecting showers on and off all day in off the North Sea. Looking at the charts it would appear Sunday and Sunday night will be our turn to get a dumping and with very low temps on monday it will be guaranteed to stick. I smile wryly at the reports from down south of gritters out in preparation for the heavy snow predicted. I wonder if they will be anywhere as near efficient at keeping the roads clear as they do up here. I have never been stuck in the past seven years although do remember a few occassions in my youth when roads were blocked.
  21. Oh I am still optimistic we will get something Pete........ A NW Rob hmmmmmm interesting, no sign of that yet! I will be patient.
  22. Watching closely ....... Yes is will be cold and we may only get a dusting of snow, I feel only some areas down the east coast may strike lucky in Scotland. Having said that I will continue to hope as it does create atmosphere in the build up towards the big day!
