I'm glad I'm on hill since I'm in the east Midlands and technically in the River Idle's flood plains, the fields flood behind my house when its at high levels.
I follow Gavs weather vids because very good at what he does. I wasn't expecting the flooding rains to come off at all because it looked way over the top but it came off. I don't rule anything when it comes to storms my friend. Neither should you or anyone. Just prey and hope it comes off lol.
Wednesday/Thursday have been looking interesting for a while now. Latest runs going for a plume type event. That's good amount of CAPE right there. 1,000J-2,000J
My grandma and granddad as well as my uncle and aunty live in that area and it's where I'm from and grew up until we moved up north. They always tell me about the storms and rains the get down there when it's bad.
Same here apart from a couple periods of rain where it looked like it went convective as the drops were very large, so large in fact I thought it was hailing, I had to double check when first saw it coming down like that.
The heavy rain in the north east is beefing up. Completely not what was forecasted. It was forecast to weaken overnight and into tomorrow and become patchy.
I thought it was back building. That's a lot of rain continuity pouring in that one spot. The amazing thing it. You gotta go down the road like 10 mins and you're out of it
Just getting blasted by the torrential rain right now. Saw some nice lighting. Some cc's and cg's mixed in. Couldn't get any pictures though because of trees and stuff blocking the view unfortunately.
No problem. Better then what I've seen this year so far. We had 2 decent storms this year with a lot of thunder but little lightening. Also had a thundery shower. Our last great storm was 27th July last year. Those explosive storms that had about 2000 CAPE feeding them. If memory serves me right, one closed to me produced a tornado about 40 minutes away. I remember seeing a picture of it in the old 2018 convective thread. Unfortunately I couldn't see it in person due to being on the wrong side of the rain. Turned it dark enough to put the street lights on though. Me and dad was gonna chase but we didn't have money for diesel.
