  1. I'm working from my windowless office today, so not got a clue if the sun has broken through here yet (although I am leaving work in 40 mins so should find out soon!) However, if the sun has broken through both south and north, fingers cross it has for me in the middle too
  2. Morning all, Hope you all had lovely weekends - it seems some of us in the region were even lucky enough to see the sun. Alas, I am one of those stuck under the stubborn grey cloud. Still, in the words of Darren Bett - 'At least it will be mild'! Happy Monday peeps
  3. Evening all. Am on mobile phone so suffering Fatfinger syndrome. Just wanted to welcome Jan back to NW an d tell you all it's dark outside. Night peeps
  4. Cloudy and quite cold here this morning - hoping it will brighten up later as I braved it without a cardie today!
  5. I used to love conker matches in the school playground. That time of year, the playground would be littered with crushed conkers. Funny thing is, to this day, I still get that little thrill of excitment I used to get as a child when I see my first conker of the year on the ground. Think a trip to Greenwich Park is in order soon!
  6. I've just unpinned it - took me ages to find it! Not a bad day today - no rain so far anyway, and have actually seen the sun once or twice too
  7. Amen to that!Crap outside tonight, am pleased I don't have to go out in it!
  8. It's raining (well, drizzly) here with puddles everywhere - although it is warm (I was surprised when opening the front door just how warm it is this morning) Mind you, I have as many holes in my boots as a pair of sandels, so can't really talk!
  9. Morning all, Another dull, cloudy, drizzly morning again. Couldn't see the top of The Shard this morning on my wait outside London Bridge Stn on the train this morning - not a day I would be happy at having pre-paid tickets for! Also, can't believe the amount of girls that set out wearing flip flops and sandels on days like today. Maybe I'll get some NW business cards printed and hand them out on my walk to work...
  10. Drizzle has stopped here, and dare I say it, it seems to be brightening up (well, the cloud is a lighter shade of grey) Whilst on the staff bus travelling between sites about 30 mins ago, I even saw a smidging of blue sky
  11. It really is miserable out there today - I thought yesterday was bad enough, but today we have to contend with the added bonus of drizzle. Urggh.
  12. Well in your case the spirit is a bottle of wiskey
  13. This for me is a horrible subject, being someone that is scared of dying... my only comfort is that no one knows what happens to the spirit after death. I choose to believe we are re-united with loved ones.
  14. I'm finding this weather really quite depressing - think my mood is matching the grey cloud to be honest
  15. Have to confess, I did pop the heating on yesterday morning to take the chill out of the house - only on for an hour or so just to make it comfortable to be in.
  16. Afternoon all, A pretty pants day here to be honest - grey, raining and feeling cold in that breeze. Certainly a shock to the system!
  17. The sun has come out - the weather Gods must know it's nearly the weekend and I'm on my way home from work. Lovely!
  18. I dunno - I am ready for autumn now (although maybe with less cloud than it is today!)
  19. Morning All Rain just started here at London Southbank - not a lot - I didn't bother with a brolly on my walk from Waterloo Station anyway - and not sure if it's the start of the main band or just a small shower.
  20. Not sure if it's because I have now come aclimatised to this heat after such a long hot summer, but I have to say, it's actually feeling very pleasant outside this afternoon. If these temperatures were forecast at the beginning of the Summer, I think I would have (and indeed, did voice it at the time) looked upon those types of temperatures with dread! Also, because we are now in autumn, I am finding that the evenings are much cooler than they would have felt in the height of summer?
  21. Just seen that on the BBC news website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-23970047 Over 100 vehicles in the crash and an eye witness said "visibility was very poor but drivers were approaching the crossing with no lights" Muppets.
  22. It was quite shocking this morning the amount of people driving without their lights on, I must say! It's almost like people think that because it's not cold out, and the forecast is for it to be clear blue skies and a mini heatwave, they could just ignore the fact that they couldn't see anything a couple of metres in front of them!
  23. Left thick fog at home - got to work in London and it's clear blue skies with just a little mist that will quickly burn away (hopefully!)
