I used to love conker matches in the school playground. That time of year, the playground would be littered with crushed conkers. Funny thing is, to this day, I still get that little thrill of excitment I used to get as a child when I see my first conker of the year on the ground. Think a trip to Greenwich Park is in order soon!

Morning all, Another dull, cloudy, drizzly morning again. Couldn't see the top of The Shard this morning on my wait outside London Bridge Stn on the train this morning - not a day I would be happy at having pre-paid tickets for! Also, can't believe the amount of girls that set out wearing flip flops and sandels on days like today. Maybe I'll get some NW business cards printed and hand them out on my walk to work...

Well in your case the spirit is a bottle of wiskey

This for me is a horrible subject, being someone that is scared of dying... my only comfort is that no one knows what happens to the spirit after death. I choose to believe we are re-united with loved ones.

Have you turned your central heating on yet ?

Have to confess, I did pop the heating on yesterday morning to take the chill out of the house - only on for an hour or so just to make it comfortable to be in. -

Morning All Rain just started here at London Southbank - not a lot - I didn't bother with a brolly on my walk from Waterloo Station anyway - and not sure if it's the start of the main band or just a small shower. -

Not sure if it's because I have now come aclimatised to this heat after such a long hot summer, but I have to say, it's actually feeling very pleasant outside this afternoon. If these temperatures were forecast at the beginning of the Summer, I think I would have (and indeed, did voice it at the time) looked upon those types of temperatures with dread! Also, because we are now in autumn, I am finding that the evenings are much cooler than they would have felt in the height of summer? -

Just seen that on the BBC news website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-23970047 Over 100 vehicles in the crash and an eye witness said "visibility was very poor but drivers were approaching the crossing with no lights" Muppets. -

It was quite shocking this morning the amount of people driving without their lights on, I must say! It's almost like people think that because it's not cold out, and the forecast is for it to be clear blue skies and a mini heatwave, they could just ignore the fact that they couldn't see anything a couple of metres in front of them! -

Left thick fog at home - got to work in London and it's clear blue skies with just a little mist that will quickly burn away (hopefully!)
