I see theres less whinging in here tonight   We might have missed the start but we going to have a good ending to the snow story.

It certainly made up for it in the end! been moderately snowing here for the past few hours with plenty more to come according to the radar.

ain't over yet - still 1 - 2 months to go and they are the ones that usually provide the goods

I really hope your right Andy but after so much promise and so many let downs I've lost all hope for the rest of this winter.

I was in Pembrokeshire at the time. It was much more marginal there unfortunately. It started as rain and turned to snow later in the night where I lived but was very wet and only a covering on grass/cars etc with slushy covering on roads. However parts of rural North Pembrokeshire in particular that are higher up had a lot of snow that day.

Here's the forecast for the morning of the 18th of Jan, looks like all the snow just fizzled out over south west Wales sadly.

Yes for higher areas of south east wales.

Would also expect a yellow warning tomorrow mid-morning for Thursday.

Edit: beat me to it coldie!

That was such a memorable event I was right in the middle of the red warning, it started snowing early hours Friday morning and didn't stop until later that night. The snow stayed around for quite a while after that as well and I remember we had more snow on the Monday and Tuesday! Here's hoping for something similar this Thursday but hopefully all of Wales can get in on the action this time.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see you guys and W.Midlands issues a yellow warning tomorrow for Thursday. At the moment probably 50-50 as to whether a red alert will be needed somewhere in the region. Was one issued for Jan 2013?

Yes there was indeed for the 18th of January in the valleys

How on earth is a cold and wet summer perfect? Do you hate the beach, BBQs and just cracking open a cold one with mates on a warm summer evening?

Not really bothered tbh, if I waant to go to the beach i'll go abroad, if I want a cold one I'll go to the pub and as for the bbqs they're overrated

Hopefully a colder than average spring with some snow and ice that will lead into a below average temperature summer which will be cool and wet right through to autumn.

That sounds perfect slimshady, after the hot summer we had last year I can't see us getting 2 hot summers in a row i'm expecting an average summer this year.
