  1. First sub-10c morning of the season for me - stunning. Out on a bike ride at 6am, and it's the first time I've felt a chill for months, a real Autumn feel in the air. Dew on the fields, hawthorn, rose hips, blackberries in the fields and a beautiful morning mist over the Stour valley. I love this time of year 9.7c for me
  2. Time's marching on and the Autumn thread starts next week, so time to roll out this year's version of a NetWeather classic. I've done some comparison slides from the archives going back to 1998 (doesn't go back any further) for you to chew over too.
  3. We've now passed the mid-point for the month and some lower nighttime minima are popping up on the charts. There's a chance of single figures as we go into the Bank Holiday weekend
  4. Haha, I live in an old converted barn, we joke that we're the home of the British National Spider Collection !! No sign of a Daddy Longlegs - the traditional harbinger of Autumn yet.
  5. 15c, overcast, cool, damp and breezy. Best day in weeks !!
  6. Bring it on. I've 3000lts of oil on order, a coal bunker that's overflowing and a log store full enough for two winters. Colder the better
  7. Spotted my first Autumnal mist of the season earlier. Out on my bike at 05:45 on top of Atherstone Hill, looking down on the Stour valley with a lovely carpet of mist covering it. Beautiful
  8. I'm completely done with Summer now. Roll on the thunderstorms, roll on Autumn in 17 days time
  9. Same here, out on the bike with the hound at 05:45. Noticeably cooler in the mornings
  10. Wheat/barley harvest's finished where I live and the bales are all wrapped and away for the winter. Dark at 9:10 last night, cherry vodka done for Christmas and the damson gin's getting sorted this weekend. Apples (pink lady) are delicious and plentiful, blackberries are still green but also plentiful. Up early this morning (05:30) and was surprised to see a single figure temp' on my weather station thingy......
