  1. This is all too much, I need a stiff drink & a lie-down. I must say, this tallies well with a few of the members' LRFs. RJS in particular I believe. Good work fellas !!
  2. Heavy snow ? 10-15cm !! Eeee when I were a lad that were nowt but a heavy frost
  3. Low of -29c. Hells teeth !!! Am I to assume that GW only applies to the UK as an Income Tax raising tool ??
  4. Any chance of you slipping it south, say, 20-30miles should do me fine.
  5. Hi Carinthian. Any chance of an update of ice coverage ?? How does it measure up compared to the last 5-6 yrs. Has a trend emerged or is it cyclical ?? pm if poss' as I may miss the post/reply. Cheers Mate
  6. I'll ramp it Enforcer. BBC South reckons 2-4cms early tomorrow !!!!!!!! Turnedoutniceagain is moving to Level 4
  7. I feel that a wee upgrade to Level 3 may be in order after that excellent 12z !!
  8. Brilliant Kane. This is now my new Desktop background - cheers !!
  9. Not sure if I've given my lawn its last cut or its 1st cut
  10. La Nina/El Nino - whatever. We're all doomed anyway, with the Indian & Chinese economies growing at their current rates, another 6 billion people will have fridges & cars in 25 yrs time. Never mind, must nip out & empty my recycling bin
  11. I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying a Weather Station. Not looking to spend more than £500, what do the Team/Members recommend ?? Also Supplier links would be useful. Cheers
  12. Excellent standard by all as always. MCT shades it by a short-head from WIBS. Thanks MCT, you're my new Desktop background !
  13. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...1/narctic21.xml Sailing to the North Pole. What does PM3 & Carinthian have to say about this ???
  14. John, what they're really trying to say is that we're going to get 14 foot drifts, twice a week from 1/11/06 until next easter. Seriously though, they needn't have bothered. This is a huge "fence-sit" as far as I can see. They've got about as much idea as Mystic Meg (aka TEITS) on what the winter brings.
  15. Gloom, gloom, gloom. Metcheck's 8-14 day forecast gives night-time temps of 12>16C right into early October. :o
  16. Excellent info' TWS, I'll save this. Here's hoping **sigh**
  17. Can someone refresh my memory please. Out of the plethora of LRFs that Members posted for winter 2005/6, who proved to be the closest ??? (No fisticuffs please Gents )
  18. http://www.meto.gov.uk/weather/seasonal/wi...06_7/index.html A date for your diaries
  19. *sigh* Don't get yourself all excited again, you know it'll end in tears
  20. Time for "Autumn Discussion" to appear on the Forum Board ?? C'Mon Mods, another week or so & TEITS will be spotting Easterlies at T760+
  21. As a family, we're lucky enough to have use of a friend's holiday cottage in the Kyle of Tongue (The flat bit on the North of Scotland - Caithness). I try & time a visit with the Sum' Solstice as the light is quite unbelievable. With the aid of a couple of coats it's quite possible to sit outside at midnight & read the paper. In fact, the local golf club have a midnight trophy that involves tee-ing off @ 10pm & playing thru' the night. Suns up again at 2am-ish.
  22. It's Verglas for me & it's now my Desktop background - Thanks !!
