Guys cmon, what’s wrong with hope? I understand this is the moans thread and I’ll be the first here if it all goes wrong but making fun of people for getting excited is just poor, especially given every single model is predicting cold.

Good morning! Wow 110+ replies when I logged in, forum is buzzing! Shame about the slight delay on the gfs6z but honestly guys calm down this isn’t another garden path scenario,it looks pretty much set in stone that it will turn colder and the ingredients are all there for something fantastic! Just look at all this mornings runs!

Look at that PV! Completely split. Another excellent ECM. Things are really beginning to get exciting, and not just because Brazil are playing! I recently moved away from Sheffield, (I know I change my location a LOT) and a neighbour told me we don’t get much snow here in Runcorn near the river Mersey, I don’t know if anyone can verify that as I’ve only been here 2 months.. Back to the models, from what I have learned over the last two years of being on this forum, it’s to never get ahead of yourself so I do urge caution in general, but not tonight. Enjoy yourselves, footballs coming home, it’s getting cold and it’s nearly Christmas !

the GFS op isn’t even bad at all really, and the GFSP is looking great imo. If ECM follows again tonight with what it showed this morning then we’ll all be a happy bunch:)

Can’t believe we’ve gone from ”the met and ECM must join suite soon” to looking at day 16 charts again. I think I need a break from you lot, it’s tiring. Love you all tho see you in two weeks

No one has even mentioned the ECM 12Z so far. Bad I’m presuming… aside from the people posting last nights charts by accident!

So according to all models (and postS) up until mid November it will be the bog standard affair with the occasionally cold rain and dry days aplenty. definitely don’t understand those saying it’s going to be dryer (mostly by mods 10+ days out actually) considering we can’t take charts as gospel now 2-5 days out

As someone who only really comments here when it’s about to (hopefully) snow. I have been drawn back here due to this mornings GFS 6Z run. Unbelievable. People taking it as gospel however seriously need to look at their knowledge on meteorology and wonder if it is truly for them because it was exactly this time last December that a few here were saying it was the COLDEST chart seen in their lifetime, then we had the most mediocre winter for coldies ever. Take everything with a pinch of salt my friends do not be wishing the most extreme heat on the UK either, we aren’t built to deal with it it would be a National crisis if temperatures got too high! But whatever happens, just keep safe and hydrated everyone!

How is the GFS 6z looking, guys? No mention of it so far this morning.

It’s squally don’t let me lie. But 90+mph winds thankful not. It’s very cold and winds are increasing so who knows!? im not dismissing this storm for whoever it’s worth. This is massive!

I understand all are saying it’s a major storm, as it is down south and maybe up north from me too! all I’m saying is here in Sheffield it’s literally just a tiny bit blowy with rain showers. What’s new there although the latest forecast has it down for me from 3-6pm ! We shall see

I have to say- many peoples who said this was a life threatening storm? I’d hate for you guys to witness an actual hurricane in America! There has been nothing so far other than a few trees down/roofs over the 02 down land a bit of snow? I dunno man don’t attack me, I just feel like this isn’t half as bad as expected…. Yet? Maybe?

I totally agree. Although you’ve only just appeared so I don’t really think it’s taking much of your time. anyway, winds increasing- here now. Still about two hours before the peak. Personally I enjoy severe weather so I’m enjoying this although I don’t want any damage and I wish the best for all of you.

Relatively calm in Sheffield so far. Not expecting the peak until after lunch, maybe even this afternoon. Constant showers however very squally when they pass through.
