  1. Using RainAlarm as a source it seems for me the Chesire Gap is seeding more small cells that keep dropping heavy rain one after another over North Stoke, again no sferics but it's been an utter washout last couple of hours here!
  2. Another Cell over North Stoke that's just flooded everywhere again just passed over, no sfrecis in it yet, but these cells could have potential for those to the East .
  3. Yeah, looks like I'm gonna miss the main event of the Storm, as Stone and Ecleshall are getting the deluge. Can see it's really dark sky to my South, and hearing very faint rumbles in the distance from that direction. Edit: Faint rumbling from South is quite constant!!
  4. Ooh Starting to get dark here, but not sure if that storm is going to swing by South Stoke-on-Trent
  5. This storm must have dumped it's energy all in Baddeley Green and v local area (at 4pm approx), wish I'd taken some pics myself because there was quite a few rumbles of thunder and some lightning in between the absolute biblical amount of rain it dropped, flooding the entirety of Leek Road (in the area by that has a layby for the couple of shops) because it was persistent and relentless for a good 15 minutes!
  6. The storm that I can see that went through Knypersley/ Biddulph had been rumbling because I was hearing it myself about 10 minutes ago, so thats a shame you didn't catch the north end of it!
  7. That hit us bout 40 Mins Ago in North Stoke, with an impressive supercell structure and biblical rainfall, lots of roads round here just got flooded left and right! These cells appear to be very slow moving and dropping ridiculous levels of water!
  8. This must be the first intensive storm I've seen where I was really close enough to see the lightning, thunder and see the squall line in the distance of torrential rain, but see it pass across from West to North, where the most I had overhead was a light trickle of rain, but to see the "foggy green" look of absolute intense downpour in the distance! Also, what's going on in Birmingham? There seems to be a Thunderstorm Factory that's propped up this afternoon pumping out the storms!!
  9. Storm such a tease... but I'm seeing frequent distant flashes and the constant drone of distant thunder rumbling all to my West and North West, over Newcastle.. I can even make out the squall line, and see the more greenish-grey tinge under it!
  10. Absolutely black as night to my West, and can constantly hear rumbling of distant thunder coming from the mass, but it'll think it'll slip to the NW of me...
  11. Gah, I'm surrounded by intense storms, and looks like we'll be "Gapped" both West and East of me as it heads North. For some reason, that Storm seems to be afraid of crossing the M6
  12. OOh that storm between Newport and Eccleshall is going nuts! I think it might be headed Stoke way!! Edit: Gah, it might deviate slightly and be more over Newcastle-under-Lyme/Keele, but we'll see!
  13. I hadn't been paying attention to storm forecasts for last week so it was genuinely unexpected for me, those pulsing flashes were amazing!
  14. I knew that odd rumble you had the other week wouldn't be enough to satiate your needs for a good Thunderstorm over Congleton!
  15. Getting some good flashes from this webcam Live Webcam Feed - Folkestone Harbour Company WWW.FOLKESTONEHARBOUR.COM
  16. Ugh, worst part of the day is here, I've been lucky the room I've been in with the computer has been North-West facing, and managed to escape the Sun's direct rays for most of the day, but I can see the Sun is shifting round and I'll have to close the curtains to keep it cool in here. Wow outside is 36c, and in the shade, the Air feels like you are standing next to an open heated-up oven, and it's breezing that oven-warm air over you. Oof.
  17. Sorry to hear that they weren't keeping a close eye on what the children were doing , I'll agree they will get more adversely affected by this heat spike, and may not understand yet the type of necessary precautions to take. At least it's the final week of term is it not?
  18. I'm taking solace in the fact that this dangerous heat spike is only lasting two days before dissipating. I have my folks who I checked with Yesterday that they will be fine, who are kinda feel like despite the heat, it's not being sustained for a week or longer. I think people remember these older summers where it sustained 30+c for long periods where it became relentless. I'm no fan of 25+c temps as im pretty sure i have nordic blood (Im the guy you see sometimes wearing shorts still in November, lol) and today and tomorrow is going to suck, but im just glad it's going to be done by Wednesday, it's not sitting over us for over a week. This is where for definite i would be more concerned, but thankfully precautions have been taken, and a couple of days while inconvenient and annoying, ought to be manageable. Also, I hope spending £600 on Dyson's super duper air purifying hydrating fan will be worth it too
  19. Didn't hear any rogue rumbles, but can tell how heavy it is as the mini lake at my backdoor has made it's first appearance this year! (Drainage not connected to main drains, it soaks into back garden but if rain is heavy enough, or ground has been too dry, it causes a mini flood around the back door/ conservatory as the water has to soak in to go down).
  20. Large Pea sized hailstones just finished dropping from the sky at my location, it's been quite a while had hail this intense dropping! Edit: Was on the periphery of that intense storm as it side swiped Stoke to the east on the A520 Corridor, has moved up to Leek and the Peak District.
  21. Those skies are black as night over to my East, with storms rapidly approaching!! Rain starting to pour down! Hearing near constant rumbling of thunder now!
  22. Just thought we were having a heavy shower pass through, but then a flash and almighty bang rumble of thunder! More of a direct hit this time
