  1. To be fair, I was having storm envy from earlier from the folks in Chesire and Manchester northwards as they were getting all the action so I know how that feels
  2. Lol we're having that stuff from Leicester right now here in Stoke
  3. It seems to be only picking up a cpl out of them all! Ooh i think that was another Positive CG just then!!
  4. I suspect it may have been Intra-cloud but ran the full length/height due to how bright it was overhead, and how bright it was for you far away, the thunder still seemed somewhat "muted" for a CG strike (given how close it was it would have been louder if it was a ground strike), but i could be wrong.
  5. I was outside for that one and It made me jump hard as it was almost overhead!
  6. Ugh never mind, disregard what I just said, I went outside and have heard multiple distant rumblings and a flash coming from the South.
  7. Ah nuts, the cells have died of electrical activity, just when they were getting close!
  8. Seems like the storms have a desire for more Cheshire Gap action, looking at their direction!
  9. Interesting, it seemed slightly muffled though to be that close, but I guess it could be from the opposite side of the bagnall ridge
  10. Mind you, that storm is pumping out some lightning, the one to the west of Stafford, below Eccelshall. I think tho it's going to skirt West of Stoke/Newcastle for more Cheshire plains.
  11. I think Stoke-on-Trent has some shield around it today considering on the radar there's showers all around that are not far away but Stoke is stuck in a pocket of blue skies and fluffy clouds....
  12. Oooh nice one! That's the second funnel cloud seen today from this forum, although this one looks more developed!
  13. Ah so that's what those weird noises in the distance were....... . Great storm nonetheless!!!
  14. This storm I'm pretty sure followed the path of the A53 road - has the lightning died off as I'm not seeing any new strikes on the usual sites? Also comiserations to the user from Congelton, you say you got no rain at all there yet in Baddeley Green in Stoke it's still heavy rain coming down!
  15. Can confirm as it's been very consistent with the strikes from what I've seen. Still can see the flashes right now as I type and distant rumbles as it's over leek way
  16. That Cg must have been positive despite being further away as I could feel the ground shake from the rumble
  17. One thing is that it is definitely slow moving and the heat island of the city must add to it
  18. Ah man it's turned out far better than I expected! First proper decent storm night of the year!
  19. It's rather funny to be looking at that winking Web Cam on the post and to correspond the flashes with the ones here above me with the booming thunder!
  20. So any other Stokies here enjoying this lovely monster storm as it's now got frequent flashes! Sure there's been a positive strike as well!!
  21. Ah, well like I said it was just a single flash and just some distant rumbling of thunder, you didn't really miss much
