  1. I was hanging out the window and nearly dropped my phone when that one popped!!!!
  2. WOW just had positive CG hit really close and it just shook the house in between all this Intra and normal CG!! Just took a 5 min recording just before that strike and the heavy rain, will get it uploaded tomorrow here
  3. Oh boy I think Stoke is in for round two there's two independent light shows and the southern one is getting closer!!!! The one north of us still showing too!!!!
  4. Gotta say, even for being storm adjacent (clipped with it being further to the west just of Stoke) This is by far the most memorable storm for just absolute constant lightening and an utter constant distant roar and rumbling of thunder, save for those closer CGs! It's been a cpl of hours from when first saw it in distance when it was in Shrewsbury, and it's still mental now! Best storm I've known! And I'm not technically directly under it, just clipped on the side!
  5. Do you still have heavy rain/hail there? The rain started here, heavy at first but now just turned to normal rain. Thunder sounds a lot closer with more regular CG's
  6. Must be absolutely amazing view from up on the peak District moor there!!!!
  7. That CG just made me jump!!! What a beaut!! Counted multiple pulses!!!!
  8. I can see it here!!! Epic light show with constant distant thunder rumbling!!!;;;
  9. I hope the storm puts out that huge fire they've had in Brum.......
  10. Ah you too? I was waking up from a nap, saw it was dark and heard distant rumble, then all of a sudden bang!! Definitely agree on being a positive CG strike.
  11. That was a massive black cloud spewing out some thunder and visible rain slats in the distance, and yet we were on the edge of it and just got a few spots of rain!
  12. I have to say this is an amazing light show, but the thunder is very muted considering how close the strikes are to my position
  13. The Winking Man | Webcam WWW.WINKINGMAN.CO.UK Please ask for permission to post images from this webcam/website COPYRIGHT © 2015 THE WINKING MAN, UPPER HULME. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED... - for those who are not local has good views of the storms when camera faces the South
  14. Hmm, i've just been outside in back garden and it feels distinctively cooler and fresher compared to previous nights, so not sure if the conditions here are good for us for storms, other than distant passers we had earlier.
  15. Alright guys, this has been an amazing night and it's been fun on here, but now it's gone a little quieter, I'm going to head off and turn in, nice chatting to you all!
  16. Amazing amount isn't it? Still hear odd distant rumblings from here, although the lightning sites are definitely not showing a lot of the activity going on!!!
  17. Aye, what is going on with the Rainfall? The radar keeps showing a constant stream starting off from West Rutland/Leicester up through to Stoke into Cheshire and it keeps building itself!
  18. The Leicester cell hit us in Stoke, and is moving into the cheshire area, would be interesting if it keeps going to Chester/Runcorn/Liverpool area.
  19. Hope that guy from Congelton who was upset he hadn't seen any storms earlier is awake for this!! Couple of hits that are close to there!
  20. It is indeed, still plenty of Rumbles and flashes, is Stoke literally the only place now in UK that's got a storm? This forum has gone kind of quiet from other areas...:P Edit: Maybe Alsager and Crewe getting in on the action now....
  21. Ah man I just realised what a view this storm must be if you were on top of The Roaches right now! Just out of the storm weather and you get all the view!!
