  1. will have a good detail look at the models later when i do my Snow watch forecast. I see some snow falling in the central belt between Glasgow and Edinburgh, possibly a couple of cm i believe. Though the best risk is areas more towards Fife and areas to the N and W where 2-5cm could accumulate to near sea level inland, and up to around 15cm above 150-200m. Somewhere Like Auchterarder could see 5-10cm quite easily i believe.
  2. I honestly don’t understand why the tay region isn’t covered near Perth , but Coastal Edinburgh is? . Every model agrees with what i just said.
  3. Snow keeps redeveloping over the S side of the Cairngorms. Could snow for several hours at a light intensity.
  4. very light precip in Perth which won't be helping much...
  5. where in Perth are you? I am 6 miles outside of Perth not far from sea level and the snow flakes are quite small too. maybe the small snowflakes is the confusion?
  6. Snowing here. 4/10 intensity ( small flakes generally ) 0.9C 40m als
  7. very very light snow falling at 40m approx 6 miles SE of Perth Temp: 0.4C Dew: -0.1C This confirms that its unlikely to be crap falling at 0C
  8. The radar is showing the lightest of precipitation which means it will be barely falling out the sky.
  9. found the culprit to why there is no snow due to such " good parameters " , a warmer boundary layer just above the surface is allowing snowflakes to melt and allow sleet and freezing rain, this will likely be the case up till early Tuesday morning.
  10. Same here SE of Perth with temperature near 0C and raining/sleeting and its 0.2c currently with -0.1c dp and more showers on there way.
  11. It started snowing here 20-25 minutes ago with a temperature of -1C . The snow became more and more sleety as it approached 0C. It’s currently light sleet at 0.3C. I am thinking this is due to the fact that on the skew t chart it wasn’t showing any temperature drop ( slight warming even ) until around 500m elevation. This must be allowing the snow flakes to partly melt.
  12. Ha i can see how you would of thought that as it's almost too unfair to be true. loads of snow still around this evening. more or less still all there except roads and some paths are somewhat cleared.
  13. i assume you heard what i got in Abernethy the other Night?
  14. On Monday evening and night we got 6cm of snow approx. 6 miles SE of Perth , however it was a fairly localised set up so it was extremely lucky and with only being 40m too is amazing. deepest snow since BFTE here and still a large amount of snow on the ground as i am on a north facing slope.
  15. Lots of light precipitation on radar but it doesn’t seem to be coming down to the surface?
  16. Here is my Snow Watch for the next couple of Days from Twitter. Lots of uncertainty for US in Scotland as there could be a few wee surprises tomorrow afternoon and night.
  17. Falling for a good 30 min now, solid dusting now in Abernethy! IMG_7732.MOV
