  1. Rain turned to snow around midday and left a 2cm covering before turning back to rain and drizzle by about 3pm. Very nice it was too.
  2. A heavy shower here earlier on this evening, which produced one loud rumble of thunder.
  3. Had some heavy hail and snow showers today, which gave a temporary light dusting.
  4. Had some heavy snow showers here today which left a temporary light covering before melting. A light covering on the grass at the moment from a snow shower which occured towards dusk, more to come overnight by the look of the radar.
  5. Had some snow showers here early on this morning which left a patchy light dusting.
  6. According to google earth i am 715ft asl.for catchgate, stanley. Still steady snow here, not sleety at all.
  7. Moderate snow here now, should start falling to areas lower down if it gets heavier.
  8. Had a light covering of snow overnight, and some moderate hail and snow showers through the morning. Snowing here at the moment, with the odd heavy burst.
  9. Snowing lightly here at the moment, wind is virtually calm so the flakes are falling very slowly and peacefully to the ground....
  10. Satellite pic for an hour ago looks interesting, although i'm not sure how to read these infra-red ones.
  11. Had some decent hail and snow showers overnight which gave a light covering this morning, then quite a heavy snow shower about 9am which added to the cover which is no more than a couple of inches. Currently snowing very lightly.
  12. Got quite a shock when i saw it,especially after all the model output. Its got more eastern promise than a suitcase full of turkish delight Maybe the meto. couldn't be bothered with all the models today, and just based their fax charts on the nogaps. :o ...or the jma
  13. Check out the fax chart for saturday! :o No sign of the atlantic returning on that chart, looks like an easterly setting in.
  14. A light covering of snow this morning from showers that fell through the night. Probably started about 5 seconds after i had went to sleep.
  15. I can certainly see the shower cloud to my north now,and its big.
  16. I was wondering the same thing,as i have a north facing window and can normally see the showers coming in,but as you say nothing but clear skies.
  17. With regard to dewpoints, here is the latest gfs chart, interesting that the dewpoints are higher where the trough lies. Also you can see the center of the low pressure as a small circle of higher dewpoints.
  18. The fax chart for tomorrow morning shows the trough lying down the northeast coast.
  19. Yes they do look to have weakened a little,we could do with a stronger onshore breeze to make them penetrate inland.
  20. I was thinking more of the arrows over the far north-east of scotland which have changed from a NW to NE in the last couple of hours.
  21. They are getting closer, but very slowly. Looks like a weak trough,if you look on the chart below the wind behind the clump has turned north-easterly.
  22. Yes rain showers at the moment, which suprised me although there are snow showers behind,so should give a covering for you by morning. Nice clump of showers heading for north-east england, although agonisingly slow progress.
