  1. Over 24hrs of constant rain here and a very strong north-easterly wind to go with it.
  2. The first spots of rain began falling here just before 10am,so just over 9 hours rainfall so far. Looks like being a long time before it stops.
  3. holy **** makes you think twice about wanting severe weather when stuff like that happens
  4. Great video with the perfect choice of music by Massive Attack.
  5. Thanks for sharing those pictures, some fantastic views, watch out for guys with cigars though!
  6. A very wintry weekend up here in the durham hills,a covering of snow first thing on saturday morning, followed by some light wintry showers through the day. A very frosty start this morning, with some heavy snow during the middle part of the day which left almost a 3 inch covering. Currently snowing heavily, which is covering up any ground where the afternoons snow had melted.
  7. Much lower dewpoints spreading south this evening and overnight should turn the showers increasingly to snow,as is happening over scotland.
  8. A covering of snow here also, but very slushy. Wasn't expecting anything until later on this afternoon,so a nice suprise to wake up to. I would bet OON has a fair covering.
  9. I look forward to your reports as the colder air digs in. The cold front showing up nicely on radar.. Ties in nicely with the gfs 12z.. Let the games begin!
  10. Some nice convective snow and hail showers here today which left a slight temporary covering. Roll on next easter.
  11. Some heavy snow and hail showers here between late morning and early evening, which left temporary coverings. Even had a rumble of thunder from one of them.
  12. Had some heavy snow showers this afternoon which gave blizzard conditions at times. A thin covering of snow at the moment. Current conditions:horizontal snow.
  13. Nice snow shower here at the moment, big flakes!
  14. Going by the 06z gfs chart,we are in the milder sector at the moment, but this should be pushed out of the way pretty quickly,so by early evening the showers should be of snow. So much for the mild sector, having a sleet and snow shower here at the moment.
  15. Yes,a lovely clear sunny morning at the moment, the fun should start early afternoon with a line of showers moving down from the north, followed by colder north-east winds.
  16. You could well be right about there being some good photo opportunities, should be some pretty beefy showers coming in from the north sea, especially on saturday.
  17. Thanks for that, maybe a better chance for us down here as dewpoints are a bit lower. Some elevation will help as well.
  18. Anyone know what those showers hitting the north-east coast are falling as? http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/
  19. Started snowing here about 10.30 am,was quite heavy at times with a strong wind to go with it,stopped snowing about 2pm leaving a decent covering of 2 inches which should stick around due to a very cold night tonight.
  20. Had some hail sleet and snow showers here today, which gave blizzard like conditions at times due to gales. A slight dusting of snow on the grass at around 3pm due to a heavy snow shower, currently dry but feeling raw in the very strong winds.
  21. Rain here first thing this morning which turned to heavy snow mid morning, leaving about a 3 inch covering by early afternoon. Sleety rain here at the moment.
  22. Had some heavy sleet here around 11am with the odd large snowflake thrown in. Certainly more sleet than snow. I would think some places higher up, maybe around the stanhope area would have done a bit better.
