Morning. Damp drizzle to light rain this am, feeling cool at 10°C. Yesterday felt like a typical autumnal wet spell, no local problems regarding water levels as far as I'm aware. A number of red flood watches though around/in Carlisle, @Thunder Snow I hope you are all good. Sorry for those of you with leaks. One red flood watch at Chester.

Chris.R 12mm rain equates to approx. 4.7 inches of snow. Glorious conditions for the region had this been a cold spell in January.
Moderate to heavy rain again here.

Dangerous55019 It looked quite dark over N Wales earlier, could see the murk right across Cheshire from high views in the Peak District. Man Airport TAF have in the last hour reported TCU's. Radar watching.

Had a warning come up on my phone earlier, potential disruption due to rain. Glad I got out today, lovely around Howard Park and Dinting, @WillinGlossop Yes, I saw a baby gosling, very tame. Coming back over the Cat road the Cheshire skies looked very murky indeed towards N Wales. Felt cooler today.

PennineMark yes, look dire, that's why I'm Gidding about today. Beautiful clear views right over North Manchester, could see Winter Hill so clearly on the way to Buxton. @WillinGlossop I'm waiting for bus to Glossop. For £2 I let the bus deal with traffic headaches. I'll look out for the baby fowl. Enjoy your day.

Beautiful start and a cracking day ahead. 12.5°C (7.30am) min of 9.4°C. Rostherne max yesterday 22.9°C, great temps these aren't they? You're not wiped out by heat during the day and it's a pleasant temp at night for sleeping.
Hope Crewe Alex get their promotion today. @Iceaxecrampon Have a safe journey back from Cornwall.

Chris.R Enough CAPE about and also a negative lift index so the air will rise, current temp 18.6°C with a 13°C dew point, basics are there, interesting to see developments. Man Airport outlook is for fog later, we'll see, no pun intended

Good Morning. A lovely tangerine sky earlier, currently 11°C, 6.15am. Off out walking once I've done mums shopping. In lieu of potential active showers later for southern parts of the region I'll not be climbing any hills tormenting a trig point. I fancy the River Goyt meadow walk at New Mills then on the canal to Whaley Bridge passing the Swizzels sweet factory.
European storms still has south parts of region in its area of interest, this is from 3pm to 9pm tonight. Estofex shows some interest too. Could be one or two storms about today. Enjoy your day.

tricol The 'swirling back' appearance is because wind travels around a LP system in an anti clockwise direction. Winds or air movement on the lower edge of it will be circulating from a westerly direction. Hope that made sense.
