I think I may have possibly been asymptomatic with the flu that was going around at Christmas, my niece and nephew both came down with it from their school, my sister and her fiancé then came down with it, my mother (who had had the jab) then was helping out looking after the kids and she came down with it (ended up with pneumonia and is still having problems with a persistent cough even now), she passed it onto her friends and boyfriend, and then there was me, not even a sniffle. I was on a training course at the time and all the people on the course started to come down with it, but again I was perfectly fine. Strangely enough though I haven't had flu for about 4/5 years now (figured I was due to get it this year at least) but the last one I did have was a right doozy, mother had to help me out of bed (and to stand and walk straight) just to go to the loo. Hope I never get one like that again

You'd be surprised at how common this sort of thing is, even tombs and headstones of Western people are not exempt aka Marilyn Monroe's Crypt and Oscar Wilde's tomb (before it was sealed off with glass barriers) are ones from the top of my head, there's probably lots more if you google search.

You'd be surprised at how gullible some of the older generation are where stalkermedia is concerned. I got shot down the other day by my mother and 3 of her friends for saying that a blatantly sfx'd/photoshoped video of a girl taking off like a helicopter from having her hair blow around during a storm was fake, another example is the shopped vid of an orca coming out of the water and 'eating' a person walking along a beach, and another of the moon 'turning green' a couple years back. And the reason why I get shot down is because their friends wouldn't post the video if it wasn't true.... This is why fake news/info is so prevalent, and why I think that the Gov' should start essentially 'shoehorning' factual information about this virus into things like soaps (whilst they have the chance) as they tend to spend more time discussing what's going on in EastEnders/Emmerdale etc (both in person and on stalkermedia) than anything else and would help the spread of accurate information. Even if it's just the basic hygiene stuff about washing hands/cleaning etc.

Personally, I'm wondering how long it's going to take before they storyline it into the soaps They'd probably get more accurate info across to more of the older generation that way too. If the majority are anything like my mother they're more likely to believe what's shown on them than the dodgy stuff floating around on facebook/stalkermedia.

If I remember rightly from my history lessons years ago, I believe it originated from a pig farm in America, the guy who had the first infection was conscripted and sent to war, due to the lack of hygiene the cramped conditions and just general squalor of Trench warfare it spread rapidly through the armed forces, including to the 'other' sides via captured prisoners. It essentially run riot and had the perfect conditions to both spread and mutate quickly into a highly virulent strain. WW1 essentially ended more due to the 'Spanish' flu killing off the troops and leaving survivors in no condition to fight than anything else. Once the war was declared over, the troops (who were carrying it) returned to their countries all across the globe spreading it to family and friends and who then spread it on. Also you need to realise that this was before modern day medical practices as we know it, Surgeons were praised for how quickly they could amputate a limb (no anesthetics) than a successful surgery. There were no vaccines, no anti-bacterial products, heck, even penicillin hadn't even been discovered yet.

If I was Mexico I'd be sending my own troops to the border to stop potential future panicking Americans from trying to illegally cross the borders to 'escape' the virus On a more serious note though, I'm wondering if Turkey is doing the whole -'We're not dealing with refugees from a Civil war (we are helping to instigate) so were just gonna dump them for EU to deal with'- is more of a preventive/precaution on their part for not wanting to deal with potential refugee camps full of coronavirus carriers/infected/deaths as those are gonna turn into a mass viral breeding ground if it gets into one (if it hasn't already).

It was racing in as it came in from the Irish sea then it seemed to slam the breaks on when the front of it reached Chester/Wrexham. It's showing sleet over Market Drayton way, and it's crawling closer inch by inch on the radar. Temps also dropping quite fast looking at the Wunderground weather stations that are set up in our area. So fingers crossed it'll be turning to snow SOON™

Too murky dark to really see anything now, but sounds like the windows are getting hit by a light smattering of icy sounding rain whenever the wind gusts against them. EDIT Wind gusts are picking up too, the house is creaking during them

Yup, well sort of, just scattered showers though. Nothing about the giant blob of approaching possible snowy doom heading in. EDIT, Temps dropping rapidly as this is approaching, gone down from 5.9C to 4.9C in the last 30 mins and it's still a good 30/40 mins away.

beginning to really pick up again, feels weird looking to the SW to watch the snow come towards us, it's almost always from the NW, getting a crick in my neck from looking in the 'wrong' direction EDIT: and fully stopped now, well... other than the odd, lagging, wind blown flake. Looks like there's another large heavy cloud heading in though.

Still coming down really fast, but the initial build up on the roads/pavement has all melted still gathering in/on the grass/car roofs though.

Snow and hail mix now, what would that be shorthandedly called??? Snil??? Haow??? Snil sounds better so lets go with were having a Snil storm right now EDIT It's very powdery looking too. EDIT2: Flakes are getting bigger as the wind's started to calm down.
