  1. Dew points in the north sea and to the east look promising now, not getting carried away yet. But things are getting close to the right side of marginal..... Now we just know there will be no precip tonight
  2. We can smell something in the air Steve. We can smell the snow a coming...
  3. That's it guys & gals, DPs are dropping, 850s are dropping. Must mean we're all going to wake up to 6ft snow drifts in the morning!!
  4. Dew points even by the Norfolk coast have dropped quite nicely, hopefully a sign of things to come for more of us later tonight.
  5. Maybe a sign of those lower DPs and 850s starting to kick in.
  6. Dew points definitely do seem to be on the drop now, also 850s should be dropping this evening/tonight. May a slight window of opportunity starting to open up..... We shall see!
  7. Let's just get today out of the way, the least favourable conditions wise for snow in our region. Then from tomorrow conditions become a bit more favourable, not perfect but we have a bit more of a chance. We can already see streamers and showers won't be a problem, we just need the 850s and DPs to become favourable now. And I wouldn't rule anything out from tomorrow until the end of the week. I wouldn't get over excited, but I definitely wouldn't rule any surprises out!
  8. Yep, an easterly that just brings rain really is just the dagger through the heart for us here in the SE. I'm sure none of us in the SE expected anything from this NWly the past week or so, but with things finally turning easterly you thought it might just be our turn. Unfortunately Europe is just too warm and the North Sea likewise, everything just working against us currently.
  9. Well that Countryfile forecast wasn't exactly very exciting, just lots of rain showers Mon, Tues and Weds. And then maybe a few wintry showers Thurs/Fri if we're lucky. Not throwing the towel in this week just yet, but it really is all looking a bit meh. Let's just hope for a few surprises in the week ahead!
  10. DPs definitely on the way down from the east, looks fairly promising. Didn't expect them to drop that quickly.
  11. UKMO isn't really that bad of a run for us down here in EA & the SE, not so good for the north of the country with higher pressure. But down here we're mostly in an easterly flow and maintaining uppers between -6 to -8 with lower heights.
  12. We might be losing the dreamy charts, but overall it's still staying cold. It's not as bad as it could be!
  13. It's just a shame that eastern Europe isn't much colder, otherwise with say -10 to -12 uppers over a relatively warm North sea that would have created some very heavy snow showers. We just can't win at the moment, but surely our time will eventually come...
  14. Showers turning more wintry out at sea, maybe a sign of things to come...... One can dream!
  15. Anyone up for a snowy weekend? To be taken with a pinch of salt!! But looks nice!
  16. Already some fairly beefy looking showers off the coast of EA and into Kent, so if things did fall right over the coming days. You'd expect some fairly heavy snow showers and even better streamers to set up!
  17. Yep, still feel we could see a few surprises in this easterly. Even more so overnight when DPs etc become more favourable. Then hopefully GFS is correct for the end of the week and brings us all a dumping without anyone missing out!
  18. BBC finally giving something other than rain symbols, although today looks too mild even for sleet. So they're probably still wrong
  19. Didn't the GFS stick to it's guns on predicting the current cold spell when UKMO and ECM were having none of it. Then they both slowly crawled back over to match the GFS, before the GFS then had a bit of a wobble. Not saying the GFS is right, but over the past few weeks its got more respectability than the UKMO and ECM imo.
  20. ECM pretty much sides with the UKMO this morning, GFS starting to look on it's own now. Looks like we've gotta keep our fingers crossed that this SSW works in our favour, otherwise things are going downhill in terms of cold and snow. (Although when you've not even seen any snow yet, I'm not sure things can even go anymore downhill)
  21. The METO outlook is very uninspiring to say the least for this easterly, not even the mention of wintry showers let alone snow showers! KENT SUFFOLK
  22. Seems like tonight could be the start of the fun and games with the models now taking on board the SSW.
  23. Looks like we'll have time for a quick BBQ before it arrives
  24. Finally something for us down here. But as nice as it's looks, we've all been bitten on the bum one too many a times by these kind of charts!
  25. Yeah was watching that football game, that snow just makes you oh so jealous
