  1. P23 has a pretty decent snow event for the South on 15/16 Jan. Just what caught my eye too!
  2. The possible streamer picked up by the GEM / Icon? earlier seems to be present on the latest GFS ensemble. The snow % has risen for the south coast on this run, up to 71% late Monday, with a 'whisper' of a spike!
  3. The GFS ensemble (for worthing) has a lot more cold options by Jan 15th than earlier. P26 is already down to -12.9C here at 850hpa. Edit to add - just flicked through, and the cold members all appear to the from the NE flow popular last evening.
  4. Not wishing to be all 'IMBY' but that is fantastic for the South Downs.
  5. I'm saying nothing until there is ensemble agreement... at least within a single model, ideally multiple.
  6. 282 GFS starts to introduce the colder air into the South, with much colder air approaching.
  7. Oh I've missed the pure adrenalin rush of the rollercoaster ride that is 'Model Output Discussion' in the winter. Fascinating.
  8. Seems an odd viewpoint based purely on the GFS op run (my assumption). The ensemble contains all sorts of outcomes, including similar to the 6Z op. I'd wager the overall outcome is pretty much the same as it was this morning, once all data is in.
  9. True, but we're driving from Worthing Friday night to Barnstaple, and then down to Penryn early Saturday, and then home. So we're crossing Exmoor, Bodmin and the edge of Dartmoor in about 12 hours!
  10. I'm way out of the area, but I am driving to Falmouth on Friday to pick my son up from University for Xmas.
  11. No problem. I was here under my actual name here in the past, but that account got locked.
  12. Given it was probably the only pert in the ensemble showing that - it's at best 1 in 30 Edit to add: 1 in 30 for that specific outcome, but there are other cold outcomes in there.
  13. Shame - I saw the Ops run, but was hoping there was solid support in the ensemble as well. Fingers crossed for the 12Z run!
  14. Thanks, good advice. Looks like I'll be saving up for one of these then
  15. Thanks for the reply. Is this the full kit, or is there a more comprehensive version out there? 16. Having looked here and online, the 'gold standard' is still the Davis range, and these go up to £1000s for Pro setups. However, there are a number of new players at lower prices. Youshiko seem to offer a similar 'range' but at much lower prices - are these any good? Sainlogic and Bresser also have similar offerings... Anyone able to share their experiences of these kits? Are they good value? Thanks
  17. When I created this thread, I hadn't found this sub-forum. Now it's been moved here, I see there are many threads on specific weather station models. I'll have a look through the existing threads to see if they help.
  18. Hello I've owned a number of weather stations over the years, and the one I currently have, an Acctim WeatherMaster only operates as a temperature sensor now, as all the other kit (anemometer, hygrometer etc) all packed up. I can seem to find anywhere that provide replacement parts for that model anymore, so I'm on the marker for a new system. Looking on-line there is a multitude of options these days, many, I'm sure, will be cheap imitations of the better make's models. Which would you recommend for someone who takes a keen interest in weather and likes to know the latest data? I want a system with at least 2 external wireless sensors. Thanks, Sussex Snow
