similar to mine here I think, (Watson W8681) usb linked into the pc from the lcd panel, although I run the Cumulus program rather than that supplied, and produces a feed to my website page (link in signature below) only had one problem in that the bearing in the wind vane seized up (got a replacement top) but it's an easy bearing to replace anyway, also was a little like a windmill in light airs and tended so spin about a bit madly so I added a longer tail (made out of thin plastic food box) and a balance weight to the nose (bit of stainless steel rod), a set of alkaline AAs last well over a year.

record rainfall today of 66.6mm (since I installed my weather station in 2009) it's been a rainy day, I had to wait for a lull to take the dogs for a walk but hadn't realised it was quite so wet as I had been doing things in the house most of the day ! have just seen a news report of floods down through Clovelly (N. Devon) where we wandered down just a few months ago ! #gosh

there seems to be a bit of a difference between the metoffice and wetterzentrale in where the low tracks up the channel, metoffice seems to show it more concentrated heading up the north sea ?

Very heavy rain saturday @ 22.07, rain rate 36mm/hr but total for the day (mainly dry) was 11.4mm

just found the picture I took of the mod I did on my W8681 wind vane to stop it spinning so wildly in light breezes, I have since put a metal rod in the nose to balance it up The material used was cut from food packaging, folded double, stuck to the tail with double-sided tape and a staple or two to hold it folded. Results are much more stable than the original was

just 4ºc and rain where I am but snow on the hills and the north of the Island causing closed roads and stuck buses etc, soulnds like the usual chaos :lol: but why do the forecasts not actually predict more than a 30% chance of snow ???? it took the local met men at the airport to spash a warning on the front page of the local paper !
