getting somewhat breezy tonight, doubt we'll get anything but rain though

well, reading the instruction manual it says either 3x AA batteries of the power adaptor and it should do this: so if you have new batteries fitted the correct way round according to the marking in the bottom of the case (2 facing one way and the middle facing the other) and the power adaptor was plugged in correctly - it sounds like it's going back in the box very soon (posted in another category thread)

light rain, ovc, 2.8c most lying snow around the garden all gone

above zero since 4am, light rain tonight wind getting up a bit

+1c, calm, partly cloudy (cumulus) with occasional sunshine light flurries in the early morning but came to little still lying snow

I am told that 47 summer was a heatwave after an arctic winter (I had just made an appearance in the late summer of '47 but not able to remember at that age ! ) can't remember what 63 was like

can anyone explain why there seems to have been a constant line of snow showers (still showing remnants on the raintoday animation) down the middle of St.George's channel ?, is it the airflow picking up moisture from the water and instantly turning to snow again ?

-3.6c overnight, bright sunny calm morning but still snow lying where untreated sunshine getting at my weather station showing +8.7c but the mercury in the shade showing -0.5c (don't you just love technology !) off out to fill the bird feeder

that's just the voice alarm I have on my weather station says as it passes zero centigrade :lol: (running cumulus software)

is the barn very secret, or how covert is it ?

still lying snow with a few light flurries this morning. Main routes gritted and passable, estate roads untreated and icy. bus services running a limited service but schools still closed I bet elfin-safety are in their element ! temp +1.5c rising slowly, dew point -1.2c pressure 1009mb rising, wind light breeze about 10mph

after my trip to town this morning (forgot to take my camera with me )

Just had old failthful out and did a staff pickup run into town for my wife's work who are on a stocktaking day, cars crawling around at 15mph scared stiff ! nice sunshine now ! where do Landys go when they get old ?

2" snow here in Douglas, down to sea level, all since the dog was out about 6am !

I have recently bought a Watson W8681 (which seems to be the same as Fine Offset 1080), which has the usb computer link but I use the Cumulus program instead of the supplied one. It is wireless so no cables to where it is mounted, you just fit the longest lasting batteries then need a mountain goat to change them every year or more. I have done a slight mod on the wind vane as it seemed to cartwheel in light airs so now has a longer tail stuck on (piece of thin plastic from a food packaging container) and the temp sensor seems to need a better screen as the sunshine seems to ramp up the readings a bit (shaded mounting position or silver foil reflector ?) generally pleased with it for a very reasonable price.

dull morning, a little breezy. looks like just wet on the motorway cams where all the white stuff is supposed to be coming from ! another 'damp squib' (wind readings affected by sheltered location and skewed by position relative to house roof)
