    Yes Jeff I very much agree with all that. I spotted my crampons and ice axe in the back of a cupboard today and they've gathered far too much dust in recent years! Thank you to you and all MRTs out there for the selfless work you do on our hills.

    Good advice. Whilst you shouldn't rely on your phone on the hill I'd really recommend installing the What3Words app. Allows a rescuer to locate you with a high degree of precision and has been used in any number of rescues to date.

    24c in Reigate now at 21:50 so that chart looks overblown. Max here today of 36.1c at 15:29 after which it got cloudy and muggy and the temperature dropped a bit. North Pembrokeshire coast tomorrow in the old family place for 10 days. Probably won't hit 24c in the day there, not that it matters when you're somewhere so utterly beautiful.
