  1. Last night the lower parts of the Yorkshire wolds cooled quite quickly to a warm but manageable temp with a pleasant breeze, enough to get some kip. Not tonight tho, although great for sitting in the garden there is no breeze to cool things down and sleep will be at a premium!
  2. @RebsAbbowhat temp are u currently getting? i am at 25°c but we haven't got the breeze of last night round here to drop temps down, could be a warm one
  3. I got this on the car at Driffield at 4.30pm, 36°c it was stifling tbh,
  4. Thanks, looking at my work phone, there are very few E-mail's suggesting not a lot is happening, i know they had breakdowns last, and our warehouse has no air flow so it will be horrible!
  5. No silly, i am wearing a towel with my pants on my head
  6. Have stayed critter free tbh, must be my socks
  7. And i didn't seal my cottage up like we were having a nuclear fallout! west and east facing windows open all day, blinds at 50%, south facing gable end windows n blinds shut all day! Lounge temp was 21c when i went out at 9am and 23c when i got back at 3.30pm despite not far from here in East yorkshire breaking local temp records!
  8. Agreed, here on the Wolds (East side) we are currently 22.5c, house now down to 21c in most rooms, not quite as bad/hot i was expecting tbh
  9. 21.5c in the lounge, 23c in bedroom, all windows open, get bedroom tempdown a bit more and it should be ok for a good kip!
  10. Tbf Rebs me and a couple of my neighbours have spent the last hour playfullly winding him up about it, over a couple of 'cold one's' in the garden with him being from ULL originally
  11. I know, i have lived in the sticks all my life n septic tanks are nowt new to me, breaking the crust game lol, i can see how that would make u popular!!
  12. Thanks! My neighbour at the end of the lane has decided NOW is a good time to have his septic tank emptied, whilst everyone's windows are open, on the hottest night of the year, Whilst we are all down wind!!
  13. Just been to put car windows up and it was reading 26°c, how accurate @RebsAbbo ure local can u confirm? oh and we have a nice gentle breeze,
  14. I can concur, i am 20 miles or so north of you and it is much warmer than i was expecting, didn't expect to have the fans on full whack tonight, next couple of days will be challenging/interesting/horrible, depending on you heat persuasion!
  15. Off work for a couple of days, so a quick jaunt up the A1 tomorrow to pick a little motor bike up for my nephews birthday, good aircon in the van so all should be good, only downside is it's in Darlington which i believe is twinned with Baghdad!!
  16. Harvest still going strong tonight, farm opposite my cottage still got tractors relaying in and out, corn carting into the late evening, moisture must still be low enough to keep the combine going!
  17. Just been out to water the plants and i was surprised how warm it was still, higher base temp tonight to start things off tomorrow it would seem!
  18. Fwiw my old 'chalk' cottage which is end of a row with duel aspect lounge n main bedroom, both south n west facing windows, today south facing windows n blinds shut, west facing blinds at 50/50, windows wide open, bathroom/kitchen East facing, both windows wide open, good air flow, the dining room (middle) of the cottage is currently 20°c, i prefer air flow rather than stagnant air and i ain't sticking foil over my windows! The next few days will see if i end up eating humble pie!!
