Last night the lower parts of the Yorkshire wolds cooled quite quickly to a warm but manageable temp with a pleasant breeze, enough to get some kip. Not tonight tho, although great for sitting in the garden there is no breeze to cool things down and sleep will be at a premium!

Have stayed critter free tbh, must be my socks

And i didn't seal my cottage up like we were having a nuclear fallout! west and east facing windows open all day, blinds at 50%, south facing gable end windows n blinds shut all day! Lounge temp was 21c when i went out at 9am and 23c when i got back at 3.30pm despite not far from here in East yorkshire breaking local temp records!

Agreed, here on the Wolds (East side) we are currently 22.5c, house now down to 21c in most rooms, not quite as bad/hot i was expecting tbh
-
21.5c in the lounge, 23c in bedroom, all windows open, get bedroom tempdown a bit more and it should be ok for a good kip!

I can concur, i am 20 miles or so north of you and it is much warmer than i was expecting, didn't expect to have the fans on full whack tonight, next couple of days will be challenging/interesting/horrible, depending on you heat persuasion!

Off work for a couple of days, so a quick jaunt up the A1 tomorrow to pick a little motor bike up for my nephews birthday, good aircon in the van so all should be good, only downside is it's in Darlington which i believe is twinned with Baghdad!!

Fwiw my old 'chalk' cottage which is end of a row with duel aspect lounge n main bedroom, both south n west facing windows, today south facing windows n blinds shut, west facing blinds at 50/50, windows wide open, bathroom/kitchen East facing, both windows wide open, good air flow, the dining room (middle) of the cottage is currently 20°c, i prefer air flow rather than stagnant air and i ain't sticking foil over my windows! The next few days will see if i end up eating humble pie!!
