Are you ok!?
Yes, thank you. Hubby out with neighbours trying to divert the water running down from the fields. The guys who’s house is flooded went on holiday just today..... he’s on his way back

House three doors down now flooded, fire brigade on route!

This rain is biblical!!! Just waiting for some thunder and lightening now!! There must be some serious flooding in places and a lot of aquaplaning on the motorways. Flights to Gatwick have been delayed.

First picnic of the year here today! Spitfire flying around, hubby with his drone, girls on bikes, spaniel happy and and cheeky vino.....can't quite believe it's still February! Is there any hint of something colder, or should we forget it this year?

Looks like we are in for some inclement weather over the next 4 days even Met warnings ... strong winds and moderate rain ... Anyone interested ?
I love hearing the wind and rain, especially at night. Prefer having 'interesting weather' rather than dull, grey and mild! The BBC have weather warnings for the next four days! Interesting that Sunday may give us a rain to snow event....however, think we are going to need to wait for a few weeks to see anything really promising. Always hopeful

It’s been okay, always love the build up and when it comes off, even better. Off to the Biggin Hill fields with the mad Spaniel and my youngest and see what’s left.
Keston ponds still frozen with snow on top, nice to see.
My money is on next year .

Steady snow here for the last hour, covering on everything

Evening All,
I hope other Members have no objection but just wanted to post up a Wintry Slideshow, for our Kentish Members. But I hope all Members will enjoy these very Wintry photos, from around Kent. These photos were taken during Wintry spells and are reproduced with the very kind permission of Ian Currie, from his excellent and informative, Kent County Weather Book.
1) I'm sure SCRAT and SNOWBOB and other Members that live in the southern part of the Borough of Bromley, will like this one. Bus stuck in the snow at Pratts Bottom, just west of Biggin Hill Airport and south of Orpington, 1952.
2) Surprise late April snowfall at Hayes Common, just south of Bromley, in the N.W. of the County, 1950.
3) A frozen River Stour, at Sandwich, Winter of 1962/63.
4) A very Lowry-esque type scene of the frozen Keston Ponds, just south of Bromley, 1st Feb, 1954.
5) Coal Barges frozen in the sea at Rochester, January 1963.
6) A Double Decker skidded off the road, on the route between Wrotham and Gravesend, 3rd March 1946.
7) The sea froze at Whitstable, February 1929.
8. A very Wintry scene from Bridgewood, between Chatham and Maidstone, March 1947.
9) An Ice Breaker in action, on the frozen River Medway, Winter of 1947.
10) One for SNOW RAVEN (Leeanne) and STEVE MURR (when he lived there). A very Wintry looking Bexleyheath, Feb.1948.
11) A very snowy scene, from the village of Hastingleigh, near Ashford, 23rd Feb.1948.
12) Car trapped in snowdrift during blizzard, in the village of Grain on the Hoo Peninsular. Jan.1979
13) One for ALEXISJ9 and all Doverites. Cars stuck on Dover Hill, 23rd Jan.1958
14) The scene on the road between Deal and Dover, after an Easterly gale delivered a blizzard with severe drifting to East Kent, 19th Feb.1969.
I hope all Kentish members and other members, enjoyed that Wintry trip around my home County. I'll try and put a similar Wintry slideshow together for all Surrey members too, in the next few days.
Apologies for the rather disjointed journey around Kent. Don't think I'd pass my knowledge and become a Cabbie in Kent!!
Regards,
Tom.
Good evening Tom (and all)! These photo's are fab; thank you for taking the time to post them! Particularly like the one of Keston Ponds. I think you'd be a great Cabbie....worth jumping in just to hear your stories .
Really hoping Biggin Hill does better tomorrow evening and Friday (desperate for a snow day). Fingers crossed for us all.

Ok let’s cheer things up in here. What secanrio would you prefer. Answers below...
a) a huge snowstorm of 2 feet followed by rapid thaw next day.
b) a cold spell of a week of sub zero temps with only light snow throughout the week and maybe 4/5 cms Max
c) a few sliders in a row. 5/10 cms every 2/3 days for a week.
d) a month of sub zero temps but no snow just plenty of sunshine.
Me personally I love extreme snowfalls so option a for me
C for me, followed closely by A

Bit gutted, had to retire to bed three and a half hors ago for my obligatory afternoon nap. Was up at 5.15 this morning and still suffer from extreme fatigue after Haemorrhagic Stroke, in Sept.2015. Was falling asleep at the keyboard as reports of rain was turning to snow, in West London. Have spent the last hour reading 10 pages of your reports. Glad to read reports of snow falling in my home Borough of Bromley. all the way down from Crystal Palace to Biggin Hill. But really surprised to hear that SCRAT and SNOWBOB don't have a covering, in Biggin Hill, I'd have thought that would've been a "shoe-in"!!
Also pleased to see Yamkin's report of snow in Croydon, where I spent the last 20+ years of my working life.
When I got to MARK's (my near neighbour, here in Lee, S.E.12) report of snow falling, I stuck my head out of the front door, although the road and pavement is wet, I can make out a slight dusting on grass, cars and bins. Really wasn't expecting much if any, here in South Lewisham, especially at the very modest elevation of 41 metres!! Will be really p--d off if that's the only snow of the Winter and I've missed it!!
Regards,
Tom.
Good Evening Tom! Yes, gutted that Biggin Hill was not the sweet spot it so often is...but hey, cannot grumble about something I cannot control! The afternoon run up and eager anticipation made a nice change (did try and get some work done while hopping between forums and various weather apps / forecasts / websites lol). Think ice could be be a real issue in the morning, although NetWeather says snow for Biggin Hill from 3am until lunch time tomorrow....if only! I refuse to believe that you have missed the only snow of the winter whilst napping......that really would sum up the worst winter ever. Fingers and everything else crossed for more cold, ice and 'snow producing' conditions for us all!!

Just got back from spending all morning in Brr,Bromley. What a thoroughly wet, miserable and raw day. Wife had an Optician's appt. She's had a very painful eye during the last few days and the cold has made it worst. Both Colette and myself are Bromley through and through. Born, educated and lived in the Borough most of our lives, only in the last few years have we moved to the Borough of Lewisham.
Felt sure Scrat would've been on, reporting some of the white stuff at Biggin Hill. Biggin is Bromley's Alpe D'Huez or for Lauren and Snowray, Cortina D'Ampezzo!! If anywhere has the white stuff in the Borough, it's Biggin, snow capital of Bromley!!
Also can't help thinking, if this had been a few weeks further down the line, Bromley would've looked a very snowy place, this morning.
Regards,
Tom.
Sorry to hear about your wife's eye, I hope they were able to help.
I'm stuck at work in Bromley argghhhh and having an extremely busy day (typically!). Had no reports of any of the white stuff in Biggin, although hopeful for a little later, although not until I am home safe and sound. Been caught out too many times trying to get back home from Bromley, slip sliding down Stock Hill (never chanced Salt Box in the snow) or having to abandon the car lol! I realise that the chance of this today/tomorrow is incredibly slim....but never say never . Have a great day everyone x

Massive flashes here! No thunder, although, I realise that doesn't always follow....nice change from the fireworks. Looking forward to some cold, crisp, weather.

Fork lightning now and very heavy rain.....internet being affected by the seems.

Very dark with lightning and distant thunder....loving this summer
-
Sooooo typical. I have waited all afternoon and evening for a flash of lightning, thunder or just a decent moment of torrential rain....I go into the kitchen (as I have a cheese addiction) and bam, best lightning bolt ever (according to my hubby and children) and now heavy rain.
